Draft Day Sports: College Basketball 2020

Worked well for a while. It's really fun. Got a new PC and then it just won't work right anymore. Roster tab doesn't show roster, depth chart doesn't appear, and strategy always says I'm not the head coach even though I am. If you click 20 to 45 times you can have it come once until you click off it again. However, no point as I can't advance anymore. Won't let me click recruiting plans to advance. So I can not recommend this game anymore sadly. If the bugs were fixed this game would be perfect.

Don't get. this game freezes on you in the worst times of the game and when you try to save it, it freezes. this game has a lot of promise and is somewhat fun but whats the point when your game crashes everyday and your career file is corrupt cause it freezes when it tries to save. i had to request my money back because the creators of this game don't know how to make a game with no bugs or even attempt to try to fix the problem. Im sure if you scroll through the reviews you will see the similar problem. save yourself the trouble, don't get.

Still crashes basically constantly. I have played some other Wolverine games and they have had all had some instability problems, but this version crashes even more. It has crashed 3 times on me in less than an hour of play.

I work from home so the majority of my gaming are simulation games, where I specialize in sports simulation games. I always knew Wolverine Studio had potential, but in 2020 they are finally breakthrough through. If you missed March Madness this year this is incredibly immersive and has you really caring about your team, your players and how far up the prestige ladder you can go. There is a degree of realism, and the March Madness coverage while lacking (a graphical tree), had a nice surprise coverage angle that I was stunned to see. Only Eastside Hockey Manager has offered me a better playing experience and re-playability. This game has given me more confidence over this studio's abilities to produce qualities Titles. There were only some minor database bugs encountered. Historical stats seem decent, the interface is very clean and for the most part the AI does a good job. Now let's get to the meet of the game, the original recruiting system. You can see they worked on it quite a bit, I started as the new team with no Prestige with some ability in recruiting and working my way up in the league is truly a delight that I anticipate will take me a few 100 hours to complete. This game is basically the spiritual successor of Fast Break College Basketball 2010, and has much more flavor, although I do wish the basketball players had more attributes and a bit more complexity, it's just enough. Recruiting a good team that somehow can go far into the Tournament is an enticing challenge. Wolverine Studio have created more immersive games in 2020, as compared with their previous titles of years past. This however so far is the first stunning success. If you enjoy Sports simulation and Basketball, I highly recommend it. The macro and in-game aspects of the game are stimulating and even the limited audio is passable. When I got to my first March Madness, I could not believe the coverage. I felt like I was in an EA game for a second. I felt excited and that was something I wasn't expecting. I do wish I could customize more things like adding new teams, new conferences and so forth. Some of the stats of how Freshman evolved in their subsequent years was also a bit puzzling on the AI teams side. But these overall, are minor considerations. I was delighted about the quality of immersion this College basketball simulator provides. The difficulty in recruiting is actually perfect, I don't want it to be too easy. The frustration is real if you choose a low prestige team as your own. But it makes getting better players that much more satisfying. As for how the ranking work and the depth of the coverage and things to look at, that's where they truly did an awesome job and makes me want to buy their other games to support their work. I could not believe how well this game turned out. It takes Basketball simulation to the next level, and I cannot wait for the 2021 version of this game.

I bought and refunded the game on steam. I was having issues with saving the game and it would just lock up. I then went to the dev forums and reddit. It seemed like the issue may be related the Steam install. I downloaded the demo from the dev site and when I ran the install I was prompted to install a version of Net Framework. I played the Demo for a few days and had no issues with saving the game. This leads me to believe that the steam install is not working correctly. I would highly recommend if you are to get the game buy it from the Devs site. The steam install package seems to be the root of the save file issue. You might not run into it if you have the required software already installed but the steam install does not appear to check the prereqs for what should be installed on your system to have a functioning game. This is just my experience. If you do research on your own you will see there are multiple who have the saving game issue and they almost all are on Steam. I have yet to find someone online who had the problem who did not use the steam copy. Also I have yet to find someone online who used the dev site copy that has had saving game issue. Now to the game. Honestly, after messing with the demo for a few days I had my fill of the game. The college recruiting was really not that fun. Developing your players is not very dynamic and you never really feel like you have all that much control over what is happening in the game. It really felt like I was just going through the motions. For the most part I could tell who I had a chance at recruiting pretty early and I had limited flexibility in what I could run on offense and on defense. I didn't feel like there were that many options actually available to me. Yes I was able to properly evaluate my best chance to win and outperform my talent by min/max my strategy, tailoring to their strengths. The thing is there was really only one way for me to set it up without horrible results. Once I found the right balance it was just roll with it. Once I found the 2 recruits who would sign with me it was just roll with it. I would like a little more choice. Maybe if I would have selected a bit school it would have been better. I picked lower end schools in the couple of seasons I ran. They all felt samey. I don't see this game having staying power unless you do an online game with friends. That might make it interesting enough. All games are better with friends so I don't see how that is really a recommendation of this game.

I have had 4 crashes in 13 hours causing me to have to go back a few months of game time with each crash.

This game is incredibly immersive and is a great option for those looking for a college basketball simulation game. There's a few things that after playing for several hours I would change (the game needs a third simulation speed for those that like to play the role of commissioner and just view the games), and there are some bugs when you are viewing teams (sometimes it takes multiple clicks to view a screen), but overall I'm very happy with this gameplay and the purchase. This game is almost flawless. The best and most immersive coach simulation I have played. However a major javascript data table bug occurs so frequently it is almost unplayable. When this bug occurs your depth, practice, strategy, and roster screens are either unavailable or you cant make adjustments as the screen is just locked. I have seen this problem in the forums and nobody really has an answer for it. Takes this game from a 10/10 down to a 4/10 for me. So close to being perfect. Really hope these guys can fix this problem for future entries because they have so close to a perfect gem with these games. Almost 100 hours in now and honestly to this point I think I am finally done with it. I am tired of fighting with it. Only thing I have really found is shutting my laptop down and after a few hours it suddenly fixes itself and sometimes it does nothing to fix it till I get to the next season. It happens at complete random and fixes itself at complete random.
