A fantastic game with a really memorable style that has occupied a space somewhere in my brain ever since I first played it as a child. It was also the first time I'd ever created something in a game: I probably spent more time with the level editor than the base game itself. This game feels like those ideas you'd have as a kid for a game where you can do anything.. What if you could pull zombie brains out, scan hundreds of types of monsters into a database, go shopping and unlock stuff with secret keys, jump on bouncy pads over lava, scare Dracula away with garlic, fight King Kong, and hit a dinosaur with your car? You can do all of that and so much more. You really never know what's going to happen next, and it still holds up to this day. Thank you Hamumu, for giving me a game where it really felt like I could do ANYTHING. I went from making silly little levels in this, to making my own entire standalone games. And I'm not sure I would have bothered to try, if it hadn't been for Dr. Lunatic.
This game is awesome. I have an indefinite number of hours playing this.
The gameplay is both fun and relaxing; it's sort of a cross between Gauntlet and Chips Challenge, though rarely becoming as difficult or stressful as either. The balance of simple combat and puzzles/exploration is addicting; if you're wondering why some people have 100+ hours, that's why. Well, that and the sound effects. HAMMER UP PANTS Highly recommended.
Honestly, part of my childhood and it deserve so much more. I remember playing this game a ton, I had the demo of the Supreme with cheese and it was so amazing that I used to replay it over and over again, I think I only had the tutorial levels and the shop but I used to walk through it over and over again, it felt really special. I am really glad I could've bought this game now, 15+ years later, I feel like I healed my child inside me. I am going to finish it and for me the game is still a 10/10.
To properly prepare for this bizarre childhood classic you'll need: Pants of power, plenty of Chinese take out and as many hammers as you can throw. (Don't forget the keychains)
Mike Hommel is daddy
I'm pretty sure the sound effect for drowning is the creator saying "pshhh". You can't put a price tag on that kind of experience (although if you could, it might resemble the price tag of this game ;) ) This game is challenging, but fair. It offers you the option to improve your experience by making collectables easier to find via items in the SPISMall, alongside additional worlds and some minigames if a level is frustrating you. Worth every penny. Now if only Loonyland 2 CE were on Steam also...
the hit of nostalgia is fantastical
A fun game I had quite a bit of nostalgia for, but I never actually completed all of the original worlds until now. There are definitely some levels that are frustrating or rely on annoying mechanics, and level themes and music vary quite a bit, but overall, this is highly recommended for anyone to give it a shot. I recommend starting on Spooky Forest.
