Mazes and Labyrinths is a single screen puzzle game set in the fantasy world of Antinomia. Use your wits, powers, and even the enemies themselves to solve over 70 deceptively difficult mazes, or create your own levels and puzzles to challenge your friends.
Revenue comes from in-game items and microtransactions, which our price-based model doesn't estimate. Copies below reflect the player base, not paid sales.

"Mazes and Labyrinths" is more than just mazes (but not much more). Rather than strictly mazes, this is a selection of various 2D top down retro pixel puzzle games, some just straight pathing, others with enemies to avoid, others using the old "move two characters at the same time across different areas" puzzle gimmick. Fine I guess, I'd even go so far as to say this is one of the better examples of the breed... but there's no prizes for being pretty tall for a midget. The whole thing could have been done in Flash or as a HTML5 browser game... and I'm pretty sure Steam isn't here to compete with Chrome and Firefox. This features really godawful pixelcrap "art" instead of real graphics. It's hard to say if this was because the developer didn't have the skill to do the job of creating 3D visuals, or couldn't afford to hire someone who does, but it also doesn't matter. What matters is that this looks much worse than most other games because of that decision, and that's a major deterrent to gamers. Games like Terraria and Stardew Valley succeeded despite the bad graphics, not because of them. It's free... now, but it wasn't before. The developer was charging $4 USD for this. Price barriers, especially on low quality products, can be a direct cause of failure. It's a nice gesture for the game to be given away for free, but it also tells us that the game wasn't good enough to succeed as a paid product. It's also a bit of a slap in the face to anyone who paid money for this... nobody got refunded. Despite having no up-front cost, this failed to appeal to the 120 million+ gamers on Steam. SteamDB showed the game peaked at only 15 concurrent players... this is a dismal public reception. This was so bad they couldn't even give it away. Bearing in mind that free games don't add +1 to your game collector count, should you bother adding this to your library and downloading it? This is a "maybe" experience... if you have a lot of free time on your hands and nothing else to do, why not? But for the purposes of a review, this isn't something I can say everyone must try. It's not quite there. Valve doesn't give us a "maybe" option in reviews, but if they did, that's what I'd choose for this.
