Endless unskipable dialog that does not further any plot only to get to simple game play with more repetitive dialog with every action.
Frankly, this game didn't meet my high expectations after its release. However, as I decided to complete the game 3 years after it was out, I slowly began to love this game. Pros: Story - The styles of the stories feel impressively consistent with Doraemon movies (the main storyline) and mangas (the side stories). They are simple and relaxing, yet well designed to bring you tears and joys at the right moments. And just like Doraemon series, it values friendship, kindness, and innocence. You don't have to be a Doraemon fan to enjoy this game, but if you are then you'll surely love the stories, especially the main story. Art - Although there are only a limited number of 3D models, the overall atmosphere feels vibrant and delightful. The 2D background is nicely detailed and blends with the 3D figures/animals naturally. In terms of the visual effect, this is definitely one of the best in all harvest-moon-like games. Music - Most background music complement the beautiful visual in a very natural way. Voice - I believe the voice actors of all the main characters are the same with the movie/anime series. Although not some conversations (most in stories) are voiced, the voice actors did a great job bringing the player a immersive experience. Ending - Unlike most harvest moon games, this game DOES HAVE AN END. You'll need to achieve that by talking and gifting to specific NPCs to trigger the main story line. No spoiler here but I love the bittersweet heartwarming ending. Casual gameplay - Compared to other harvest moon games, farming and pasture seem to yield less but foraging and fishing brings you more benefit. In my opinion this make the whole economy system more balanced. You can spend several in-game hours to tender your 5-star crops or you can wander the whole day across maps catching insects and fishing. Also, there is nothing really worth grinding (except a few junk-related gadgets if you like), which puts even less pressure on the player to gain money fast and effectively. Cons: Tutorial - Like most comments have pointed out, the tutorial at the beginning is lengthy and could not be skipped. In-game storage - When you play into year 2 when all the crops unlocked, you may encounter some serious storage problem. Lack of critical information - There are details that the game simply doesn't tell or hint you. For example, after you fish at the same spot 3 times, you are supposed to wait for the next hour before you cast your rod again. Without knowing this, you will likely spend more than 1 hour in-game time (1 minute) staring at your fishing buoy with actually 0% chance encountering a single fish. Similarly, whether and when should you should leave your livestock outside? How can you catch beetles? What does upgrading your fishing rod do? The player deserves to know the answers before they waste too much time. Overall, this is an above average harvest moon game and will be specifically attractive to Doraemon or similar manga lovers.

Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 0.14/day in the week to Jul 24 → 0/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 26 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 7 places towards #1, and the 2,400 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

Cute game! Spent hours playing it! My only gripe? The lack of storage space! I am such a hoarder when it comes to Harvest Moon-esque games, so it is a bummer to me that there is no way to create storage boxes to keep everything. You are basically forced to sell items you do not need, which gives me anxiety as I do not know if there are any NPCs who might ask for these items. I keep having to reorganize storage, making sure I do not sell off important items.. Wait.. There are other gripes, but I do not wish to jot them down considering a lot of people have commented on them. And don't let me get started on the clunky controls.. Also, activities such as farming and taking care of farm animals are such a chore, as compared to other Story of Seasons games, which are more polished in this aspect. Overall, I do still love playing the game, despite all its flaws.
If you love Harvest Moon then you really should try this game because it have a lot of things you can do EXCEPT you cant get married kay :')
Doraemon Story of Season is an impressive game in terms of visuals! The watercolor, the world shades, even the way they portraited this renown JP franchise is amazing! The problem with this game is... it lacks direction. It's true that at the beginning you're introduced to a very long tutorial (~2 hours) that you cannot skip, you cannot save and do your things, and exit. It's not that the mechanics are not well introduced, it's the real lack of purpose in this game! You don't know what is best to farm, you don't know with whom you should connect with, you don't have space, you just know that there are events coming and you'll probably need something for them! So, at the start is just too much (???) and you're wondering what you're doing in there, and what you're supposed to do! This is where this game fails big! Then, you start understanding the purpose, what you need to gather, but even the farming in itself in here is not very pleasant... It's a pity because it had so much potencial, and we don't have many doraemon things related, but the whole experience is not good. For example, in animal crossing you always have something that "engages" you to come back, in here that feeling is not there, you'll soon grow bored of it. I cannot recommend it, despite the really good graphics.
It's one of the most beautiful games I've ever played, the stamina and sleep restrictions are not that annoying, it's not grindy and I like the mechanics like farming and mining and stuff. I really love that you can switch between activities, like farming or mining or better yet gathering stuff and it's different each season! And seasons are so beautiful and each has its own mechanics. However, in a lot of ways it is very frustrating and just not good - for example, personal requests are not tracked at all. Meaning, and characters ask you to get them stuff often, there is no record about that so you either remember which is impossible, or just plain forget and loose interactions and affection or reward. The quest events or some mechanics have zero hints and I have no idea how to complete some quests, like saving a doggy - it says I need some gloves, and then zero interactions or hints on how to do that, just silence. In addition, it has a mind numbing almost 2 h of cutscenes intro when you either has to sit for 2 h mashing buttons or just plain skip everything and hope you didn't miss anything important. Also no info on store schedule except on the storefront - there are a lot of stores/locations, but you either go and try to be lucky that they are open or just write it on paper? Like yea, in the end it's no biggy it's gonna resolve itself somehow in the course of the game or you can google the solution, still a bit frustrating. And for the store schedule I'v got a mod, it's a lifesaver. Otherwise probably my first cozy game I play so long and really don't get tired.
40 minutes of skipping back to back to back cutscenes with zero gameplay in-between them just to start the actual game. Only to then get to one of the most shallow renditions of a farming sim I've ever played, that is what I call time well spent. Nice art direction though.
