⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ "And you will be their savior, your strength will be their shield and your will their sword... You remain unbroken, for your fight... is *eternal.*" Six years later and DOOM: Eternal is still one of the best videogames to have ever been created. So I'm not sure what I can add to this review that hasn't been posted over and over... This was my third playthrough the game and is probably my best one yet as I mastered the combat loop the best and unlocked the most secrets. Everything from Eternal's art design to gameplay mend together seamlessly, and I think I now question if I prefer this gameplay over The Dark Ages. I think what makes the gameplay work so well is that you seem to only be better and stronger depending on if there is more or less demons in each arena. The more demons there are, the faster you begin to move thanks to all of the upgrades you can get in the very expansive upgrade systems that exist in DOOM: Eternal. Adding onto this, I think what makes the demons so core to the gameplay of Eternal is also now Weak-point System, where you exploit destructible weaponry and armor that you can use to stun demons and also make your cycle of speed and destruction an easier flow. The weapons also help trait your speed demon habits as you have three light weapons, five heavy weapons, the Crucible and two special weapons. While not as massive as The Dark Age's roster turning the Mods in favor of two different types of weapons, the weapons of Eternal allow you to manage the demon hordes by allowing you to learn weapon swapping which is much more useful with Eternal's speedy flow. Every weapon feels necessary, and you're rewarded for using exploiting a demon's weakness (which can be further rewarded with more upgrades.) Moving away from gameplay, I used to think DOOM: Eternal didn't have the most impressive graphics, but I think I made a gross judgement as now replaying it on a brand new PC lets me see a lot of the incredible details I missed before that I think make this game breathtaking, and surprisingly colorful for such a gritty and bloody game. These are helped by each demon having unique silhouettes, colors and sounds that contrast or work with each of the uniquely designed maps. My final praise will be complimenting DOOM: Eternal's music, as this was Mick Gordon's final work for ID before leaving due to the very unfortunate cooperate drama that left him permanently betrayed. But i wanted to congratulate how much the music pushes you forward and is your motivation to go above and beyond in your brutality. DOOM: Eternal is still one of my favorite games to this day, and probably even higher now than before, it's a game everyone should play if they want to get their blood flowing and spilling with demon carnage! As for my next game, DOOM: The Dark Ages - Revelations releases tomorrow, and I am hoping to finish that ASAP so I can return to Eternal for it's Ancient Gods duology...
Kolejny świetny Doom. Przyjemna rozwałka i rewelacyjna oprawa dźwiękowa. Mi odrobina zręcznościowych elementów nie przeszkadza. Polecam. Niestety w 2026 multi jest już martwe.
