Okay, this game is not that bad. I can understand why people wouldn't like but I'm having fun with it so far. There are weird things like when you get hit by an enemy you're like gravitate towards them and can't seem to get away from them and then they end up killing you. There's one Parts where's the beginning where I had a restarting seven times before I ran to the end of the map and started shooting and all the dolls that way. And there's a lot of parts that feel a little janky with the graphics but the game is playable and I've been enjoying it so far. It's got an interesting story and it's way better than the first one. First game would never finish cuz I got so confused with what to do and where to go. This one's more linear which is actually a good thing for the storytelling. They give you tons of ammo so you never really get that survival horror feeling but because the enemy's kill you so fast you kind of do. The game isn't balanced but once again I enjoying it. There was actually a few parts that made me jump. I'm just surprised it's gotten "mostly negative" reviews because I really don't think it's that bad. I played way worse than this. Seriously, MindsEye (2025) is way worse than this game!
UI.: Az első dollhouse krimis hangulata jobban tettszett... Pedig utálom a krimit :)
Dollhouse: Behind the Broken Mirror is a first-person psychological horror experience developed and published by SOEDESCO that attempts to blend narrative-driven exploration with surreal imagery and unsettling atmosphere. The game centers on Eliza de Moor, a once-renowned singer who collapses during a performance and awakens with fragmented memories and a fractured sense of identity. What follows is a descent into distorted recollections, experimental treatments, and symbolic environments that blur the boundaries between reality and subconscious projection. Rather than relying purely on jump scares, the game positions itself as a slow-burn psychological journey through trauma, guilt, and buried truths. The narrative unfolds in a deliberately fragmented way, mirroring Eliza’s broken mental state. Players explore locations such as the Dollhouse Mansion and the town of Ravenhill, piecing together memories through environmental storytelling, scattered notes, and surreal transitions into a mirrored subconscious realm. The concept of dual realities—one grounded in the physical world and another representing Eliza’s distorted psyche—is one of the game’s most compelling ideas. These shifts allow the developers to experiment with visual tone and symbolism, presenting warped architecture, looming doll figures, and unsettling spatial distortions that reinforce the themes of fractured identity and unreliable memory. At its best, the storytelling invites interpretation, encouraging players to question what is real and what is psychological manifestation. Atmosphere is undeniably the game’s strongest asset. Lighting design plays a central role in cultivating tension, with dim corridors, flickering bulbs, and shadow-heavy interiors contributing to an oppressive sense of isolation. The presence of dolls—central to the game’s visual identity—creates a constant feeling of being watched. These figures are not merely decorative; they are symbolic extensions of Eliza’s mental fragmentation. The sound design further enhances this unease, relying on ambient noise, distant echoes, and subtle audio cues rather than overbearing musical cues. In quieter moments, the tension builds effectively, allowing dread to seep in gradually rather than relying solely on sudden shocks. Gameplay combines exploration, puzzle-solving, stealth sequences, and occasional combat encounters. Players navigate labyrinthine environments, unlocking doors and reconstructing memories through contextual puzzles. Some puzzles are thoughtfully integrated into the narrative framework, requiring attention to environmental details and symbolic clues. However, pacing can vary, and certain segments may feel mechanically repetitive rather than narratively driven. Stealth elements introduce tension as players avoid hostile doll entities, though the AI behavior and encounter design can occasionally disrupt immersion. Combat exists but is not the central focus; it tends to function more as a defensive measure than a power fantasy, reinforcing the vulnerability that defines the horror experience. One of the more ambitious aspects of Dollhouse: Behind the Broken Mirror is its attempt to balance psychological symbolism with tangible gameplay mechanics. The dual-reality system has potential for inventive level design, though its implementation sometimes feels more aesthetic than mechanically transformative. When transitions between realities are used effectively, they create moments of genuine intrigue. At other times, the mechanic can feel underdeveloped, leaving players wishing for deeper integration into puzzles or combat encounters. Still, the concept itself remains one of the title’s most distinctive features. Visually, the game adopts a noir-inspired aesthetic combined with gothic undertones. Environments are detailed and moody, emphasizing contrast and shadow to heighten tension. Character models and environmental textures serve the atmosphere effectively, even if they do not push technical boundaries. The overall art direction leans heavily into stylized unease rather than hyperrealism, which works in favor of the psychological themes. The doll designs, in particular, are memorable and unsettling, acting as recurring motifs that tie together narrative and gameplay. Reception to the game has been mixed, reflecting its ambitious yet uneven execution. Many players praise the mood, artistic direction, and conceptual depth, highlighting the atmosphere as the primary draw. Others point to mechanical inconsistencies, pacing issues, or underdeveloped systems that detract from the overall cohesion. The divergence in opinion often comes down to expectations: those seeking a purely gameplay-driven horror experience may find certain elements frustrating, while players drawn to psychological storytelling and symbolic exploration may appreciate its strengths more fully. Ultimately, Dollhouse: Behind the Broken Mirror stands as an ambitious psychological horror project that prioritizes atmosphere and thematic exploration over action-heavy gameplay. It offers moments of genuine tension and compelling visual storytelling, even if not all of its systems align perfectly with its conceptual goals. For players who value mood-driven horror, fractured narratives, and symbolic environments that invite interpretation, it provides an eerie and introspective journey. While it may not achieve flawless execution, it reflects a clear creative vision and a willingness to explore the darker corners of identity and memory through interactive horror. Rating: 6/10

Schönes kleines Spiel, an manchen stellen bisschen verbugt aber dennoch Spielbar !!!
