Actually a good arcade game with understandable yet challenging gameplay.

There's much movement to master in this cute but tough gem. The "casual" tag is completely misused! A quality arcade game that's heavy on the multi-tasking, with action as tight and slick as the cartoon style; your mistakes are your own! Pick up orders and take them to your hungry undersea patrons, while routing or spinning past clients yet to find their seats. There are coins (tips) to collect in the aisles and a rechargeable stamina limit for your spinning. The fatter the fish, the more it takes to whirl past! Dirty dishes are a definite part of the strategy, though too easy to forget: you can haul 'em to the washer for extra money -- the higher the stack the better, just like the food-laden plates -- but you don't have time to clean them all up . . . yet you can't haul dirty dishes with the fresh food, either, so if you accidentally snatch a dirty plate while trying to get back to the counter for some stupid squid's steak, you're forced to detour and seek the sink first -- losing valuable time if one those b@stard sharks starts to grumble over his absent eggs! So you really need to keep a few empties cleared out, because you just can't spin past them all without automatically picking some up . . . and if you end up spinning on a puddle, you fall and get a miss. (Yes, the ridiculouness of undersea puddles is addressed in a cutscene.) Three times either slipping, or crashing into some obese tourist beluga, or not serving some arrogant business eel fast enough, and it's over! But keep in mind you must spin on the banana peels to destroy them, because they'll trip you at an ordinary run. There's a lot to consider, much more than I was expecting! But it is certainly doable with focus, and explained well in-game. Let's hear it for the angry, sweaty, reverse-polarity meditation of action games! The bubbly pink insouciance of Carrie the Crab belies a stiff, hyrda-headed challenge if you set out to wipe the cutscene-rich arcade mode in one go. I would call that a good win-state to commit to, if you don't really have time to get the umpteen cheevos, which could take many, many hours. It took me seven before I was good enough to one-shot the arcade mode, and that one attempt took me almost half an hour! Yet I can see myself going back to this one here and there. Who knows where I'll stop? Calcia the cranky lobster plays Squidward to Carrie's Spongebob, and you can even unlock her for a different playstyle. This is the kind of experience that, if you've still got that 1980s arcade reptile mind, will gobble up a lot of your hours before you even know it.
This game excels both aesthetically and mechanically at creating a faithful arcade experience. If you had told me this was a port of a Taito game from 1994 - I'd believe you! Carrie's Order Up is a game that you will be able to jump into very quickly, but still has lots of friction between various mechanics that will inspire you to keep playing and master. Just when you think you're starting to get confident at the game a new customer, hazard, powerup, level layout, etc. will come along and throw you out of whack! You'll have to think on your feet to navigate an increasingly hazardous environment in this cute action-puzzle game.
when I first saw this game I thought it gonna be another diner dash game but nooooo this is more like arcade food serving game where your goal is to run around serving customer while also trying to avoid hitting the customer at the same time, challenging yes but is it fun...? yes... just play with a controller not keyboard

It's fun! Really fun, actually. It has the cheesiness and characteristics of an old arcade game, but modernized just enough for today! The gameplay seems daunting, but once you get into the mix of things, it's actually not that bad. Doesn't get stale with constant map changes. Great for a quick fix if you're into Diner Dash type games. Most importantly though: it passes the "I want to eat the food in this game" check.
Simple and fun diner dash game for cute crabs and lobsters. Oh, you can play as them in-game too.
