Thought I'd love this game. Unfortunately, it is impossible to play it on MacOS Monterey. It just quits unexpectedly all the time. I'm trying so much, restarting again and again, but it keeps quitting all the time. ALL THE TIME. After 3 clicks here and there, it just quits. So f@@ing frustrating. Guys, before publicly releasing the game to be suitable for MacOS systems, just test it to be SURE that it ACTUALLY works. I've just lost 10 euros and became so irritated, cause I know I'd really love it. Now, I just can't keep playing it. So frustrated. Don't even think about buying it if you have MacOS, you'll be mad.
“Another Tomorrow” is one of those enjoyable puzzlers presented in 3D mini dioramas that are becoming increasingly popular. Sleek-looking and polished, this game will be a solid entry in the trendy genre. Here you will find: - A story that tends to be on the darker, slightly overdramatic side. From the very beginning it is obvious that you meant to follow false narrative. Sure, you might not know exactly how it will get resolved, but the feeling that someone’s very clearly pulling your leg all the way to the end is ever-present. It’s a decent story, far-fetched but interesting; however, it could have benefited from more subtlety. - The writing that needed more depth and a few more layers on top of simple statements that are often way too blunt. To be fair, these games are rarely about writing, so this simplistic approach can be found in absolute majority of the games of similar kind. It’s barebones, but it works. - Puzzles galore. They tend to get really tricky towards the end of the game, almost riding the line of “unintuitive” but overall staying in the logical realm, even if it means THIS game’s logic. Everything under the sun – from lots of codes to locks, to logic-based tasks, to point’n’click environment interactions (all of it with an escape room flair) can be found here. It all starts with medium-to-hard difficulty and transitions to “hard” towards the second half. There’s extensive hint system and an ability to take in-game pictures with a camera, in case you’re not a big pen-and-paper fan. Challenging, at times head-scratching, but satisfying journey. - Snazzy-looking, fashionable diorama environments. I call them “cozy”. There’s just something inviting in the small worlds that open up with a click of a button, and “Another Tomorrow” gives a glimpse into a variety of mini worlds from fancy condos to ancient temples. Tons of details, pleasant colors and atmospheric lighting all make for a sweet-looking picture. - Minimal VO with only a few lines told in an enigmatic voice with an accent all the way up till the end – where we get a dramatic, voiced showdown. Slightly jarring (due to largely silent gameplay until this point) but well-performed experience. Plentiful, well-done sound effects and quite somber soundtrack (the kind that fits the game but will be gone from your memory once it’s over) round up the game. “Another Tomorrow” is an entertaining, rather challenging puzzler. It has solid core of components that make it very much in line with its peers that seem to spring up like mushrooms. Not mind-blowingly memorable but wholesome, wrapped in style adventure that’s all about puzzles. The rest of the stuff takes a backseat here, so if you feel like challenging yourself with some brain-teasers – this will hit the spot.
Nonsensical plot. Nonsensical world, Tone all over the place. Pointless plot twist out of nowhere. Obtuse puzzles and I really mean obtuse. Which the developers appear to realize because they had to add a very comprehensive hint system to the game. Oh and let's not forget the integrated camera that is supposed to be used to collect clues and solve puzzles. The one that takes off-center images that crop parts of the information out. This is just plain bad. Oh and by the way, this game is neither first person nor a point and click adventure. It's an isometric room by room puzzle game. And nothing more.
Not bad. The basic design is a bit quirky, as each scene looks somewhat like a movie set, seen from behind the camera, instead of through it. Odd choice. Doesn't add anything, doesn't take anything away. Some good puzzles, with only a few of the clues being too obscure to make any rational sense of them. In-game hint system was a big help, but we felt pretty good about using it sparingly. Some good humor as well. Ending is not up to the quality of the rest of the game, but that's hardly rare, now is it? Demo was a fair example of the whole thing.
This is a solid puzzler with quite a feelsy story and overall somber tone to go along with it. This is most certainly one of the harder puzzlers I've played due to it's somewhat unique style. I actually ended up having to brute-force a few puzzles after being unable to locate a solution. Also of note is the game's length for such a small indie title. I'm at nearly 5 hours with probably 1-2 more to go and that's respectable. While clearly a budget title in terms of graphics and animations, Another Tomorrow is a very fun puzzler reminiscent of other indie titles like The Room and The House of Da Vinci. I'd say it's a must-play for fans of those series'. Edit after finishing the game: My one gripe is as follows. Hitbox/collision detection was a little spotty on object interaction. This means sometimes I would try to use an item with it's correct object counterpart with no luck. But after trying two or three times, it would suddenly work. If you aren't persistent, you may be trying the correct solution without realizing it due to small technical issues like that. Overall, it's a solid game with a fun and interesting story.
Not bad a puzzle game... one of the better escape the room puzzle games I have play in recent years: ++ The hints/help was actually helpful... which is rare for indie escape the room style games -- However Help/hints are merely numbered so you may get a hint for a puzzle you are not working on. ++ Ability to take pictures of clues, draw on said pictures in game, then be able to pull up pictures while doing puzzle (another thing I wish more escape room games had) -- Frame rate issues on a few puzzles -+ Story... ugh... I called the ending twist less then an hour into my 4 hour 30 min run it was that obvious. Its not a bad twist per say it's just a very well known twist that was used in a [redacted for spoiler reasons]
game freezes intermittently. when you want to end the game, none of the buttons work; I had to use task manager to end task
Unfortunately, it crashed about 6-7 times in the last hour I played. It's frustrating. I love the game, but I would not recommend because of that... I'm running it on Mac OS Monterey.
