A science fiction-themed vertically scrolling shoot 'em up game known for its stunning detailed pixel art, gigantic bosses, and a menacing difficulty. From the legendary studio Toaplan, this is quite possibly the most rock and roll shooting game of all time.

I love the look of this game. The pixel artwork and visual design is still a masterpiece so many years after its original arcade release. Even the title screen looks awesome. The weapons are unique and something different. Gameplay is great; it's a simple and straightforward arcade shmup that's fun and addictive to retry. Input latency is amazingly low and responsive (make sure to set input to 'raw' in the settings). I"m just grateful that Bitwave Games are re-releasing these amazing Toaplan shmups. Thank you!
Great port! But is it me or officially do not appear speed-up parts in Korean version?
Very fun to play Plays great on Steam Deck
It’s a sci-fi vertical scroll shooter made for coinmuncher machines. You can swap your gun with the choices being beam, V-beam, seeker, and cooler seeker. Instead of normal bombs you can swap between a weak defencive bomb module that improves the blue beam, and a dodge-roll module that allows you to run away when cornered. Near the end there’s a giant mechs boxing stage. There are no upgrades, so basically what you start with is what you get. On the other hand games that have upgrades are balanced around you having all. So when you die you are put into inescapable death loop. In this game even after dying you are as capable as before you have died. It still is a coin-muncher pay to win game that wants to kill you every second, tho. This is the best release of this game. The emulator runs with no stupid envelopes so you can play full screen on your vertical 3//4 monitor. There’s rewinds, saves, difficulty selectors, accessibility selectors, multiple binds and multi-binds. You can disable instagram filtres that are turned on by default. There is a good controls rebinding system.
Played this game around 25 years ago on an actual arcade machine. For years, I couldn't remember the name, just the goofy laser guns. A YouTube video of the best arcade games reminded me, and I had to buy it instantly. Childhood memories :) Also, to boost this review, I asked an AI to make a cool ASCII art for "Childhood Memories": _____ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ / ____| | (_) | | | | | | | | | | | |__ _| | __| | |__ __ _ _ __ | | ____ _ __ _ __| | __ _ | | | '_ \| | |/ _` | '_ \ / _` | '_ \| |/ / _` |/ _` |/ _` |/ _` | | |____| | | | | | (_| | | | | (_| | | | | < (_| | (_| | (_| | (_| | \_____|_| |_|_|_|\__,_|_| |_|\__,_|_| |_|_|\_\__,_|\__,_|\__,_|\__,_| Whatever...
Dogyuun is definitely a difficult romp if you aren't using the rewind function BUT is still very fun! I enjoyed it 8/10
Runs well on OSX M2. Only works on Apple silicon. What a beautiful game with great music. 10/10
