I like the show, and I rate Blink as one of the best Doctor Who episodes. So how does this perform as a follow up? Okay, I guess. It tells the story through a mobile phone, and you do things there to advance to the next search and click task. It's simplistic enough, though I'm still missing bits of it so far even after a couple of runs. What I really like are the connections to the show with a couple of returning characters for this story. What I don't like are the apparent issues surrounding the implementation of the Weeping Angels themselves. It doesn't make sense at times.
As a Whovian, it was fun to revisit Wester Drumlins and get a glimpse into what happened to Larry and Sally after "Blink" was over. If you can pick the game up on sale, it's worth checking out. Just keep in mind the re-play factor is pretty much zero. I spent about 3 hours play time (some of it AFK as I got distracted by household stuff), so that's something to consider in the price and what you're willing to spend for a one-time experience.
very intense and very epic makes you feel like your in a sequel to DON'T BLINK a lot like simulacra always keeps you on your toes
Doesnt launch on SteamOS and collects data. Play Simulacra instead.
amazing game with fun puzzles, a bit short (not that it was too short just with there was still more to play) DEFINITELY recommend using headphones when playing.
Enjoyed it, get it if you like games like simulacra
If you're not a fan of Doctor Who, I would not recommend this game. Even if you are a fan, I'd struggle to recommend it unless you're a completionist, or a massive fan of the Angles (or Osgood). I just found the game quite boring. Most of it is spent in incredibly railroady text conversations with Osgood, or reading/watching/listening to a lot of stuff, and then "scanning" bits of it to show to Osgood. This is not an engaging gameplay loop. The story itself was fine, and I liked all of the references, but I did find the ending a bit of a let down (the post-credits alleviates this a little, but not fully).
I really loved this game! It’s pretty short, but super well done and totally worth it if you’re a Doctor Who fan. Creepy in all the right ways, great writing, and actually feels like part of the show. I do kinda wish the Doctor showed up a bit more, but it was still great overall! Also, shoutout to the Tenth Doctor for making time travel look good... and to the Weeping Angels for ruining my ability to blink normal ever again :I
Doctor Who is one of my favourite TV shows of all time and although I am still upset we do not have a proper Doctor Who adventure game, this fun little "Found Phone" game is very nice and serves as a good sequel to one of the best episodes ever "Blink". Its fun and intriguing and it brings back some fun characters. It's not 'scary' but it is unsettling, especially if you find the 'uncanny valley' type stuff unsettling as there is a quite a bit of that. Overall a 7/10. It's good for a game as small and simple as it is for a big TV show.
