This is a good game that really captures the feeling of a Doctor Who episode increasingly as the game progresses. The ending also feels well placed with it neither feeling dragged out or too short. The game also runs well however I would be more suprised if it didn't as the game is made up entirely of either interacting with a phone menu, watching video's, looking at photo's, or listening to audio recordings whether in the form of phone calls or voice recordings on the phone. Therefore, I highly recommend this game to any Doctor Who fan and anyone else who may like this genre of game.
If you're not a fan of Doctor Who, I would not recommend this game. Even if you are a fan, I'd struggle to recommend it unless you're a completionist, or a massive fan of the Angles (or Osgood). I just found the game quite boring. Most of it is spent in incredibly railroady text conversations with Osgood, or reading/watching/listening to a lot of stuff, and then "scanning" bits of it to show to Osgood. This is not an engaging gameplay loop. The story itself was fine, and I liked all of the references, but I did find the ending a bit of a let down (the post-credits alleviates this a little, but not fully).
9th Regen Whovian here. I thought this game was a brain tickling puzzle mystery game. I LOVE that this game gives us further story on characters from the episode that introduced my personal favorite villains. I love that the actors got to reprise their roles.
Doctor Who is one of my favourite TV shows of all time and although I am still upset we do not have a proper Doctor Who adventure game, this fun little "Found Phone" game is very nice and serves as a good sequel to one of the best episodes ever "Blink". Its fun and intriguing and it brings back some fun characters. It's not 'scary' but it is unsettling, especially if you find the 'uncanny valley' type stuff unsettling as there is a quite a bit of that. Overall a 7/10. It's good for a game as small and simple as it is for a big TV show.
I like the show, and I rate Blink as one of the best Doctor Who episodes. So how does this perform as a follow up? Okay, I guess. It tells the story through a mobile phone, and you do things there to advance to the next search and click task. It's simplistic enough, though I'm still missing bits of it so far even after a couple of runs. What I really like are the connections to the show with a couple of returning characters for this story. What I don't like are the apparent issues surrounding the implementation of the Weeping Angels themselves. It doesn't make sense at times.
I must say that im not that deep into the Doctor Who lore. I know the tardis and the angels, but thats pretty much all i knew. I didnt knew that the angels have another name. But this wasnt a problem at all. Its a game mostly about reading which isnt that bad. I thought the game was worse then it really is. I really liked it. Its one of the RLA games that are very seriously. I dont understand a few things about the angels but this aside there is no problem with the game. The worst was the "Petronella goes to hella". Totally facepalm material right there. I can totally recommend it
A decently made title that pushes what devs had with Simulacra further and adds new toys to play around but suprisingly easier puzzles to solve making me think all this is a big promo for the iconic show which could very well be the case For the price and the lengh I had a fun time, it was a fun little mystery and only time I had a problem was with the camera codes as the game didnt give me an option to look at them again for some weird reason If you like short found footage horror games I recommend Doctor Who for sure as the price is as simple as cup of coffee
