Loved this sequel to "The Cabinets of Doctor Arcana"! The puzzles were just as challenging, if not more so, than its predecessor. I would love to see a third one to make it a trilogy.
great sequel to the original - fantastic that it kept everything true (as many sequels don't normally) - find the puzzles a challenge but the original was also. having fun.
"This game truly surprised me in the best way possible. From the very first moments, the atmosphere pulls you in — immersive, engaging, and perfectly balanced between mystery and fun. The puzzles are varied and never feel repetitive; each one challenges you in a different way, keeping the experience fresh throughout. The theme is not only interesting but also consistently well executed, making the world feel alive and coherent. On top of that, the graphics are polished and carefully crafted, adding to the overall sense of quality. It’s clear that a lot of attention went into the details, and that makes exploring the game a joy in itself. What I love most is the replayability. Even after finishing, I found myself wanting to dive back in, noticing new details and appreciating the clever design choices all over again. This isn’t just a one-time experience — it’s a game you’ll want to revisit multiple times. If you’re looking for a title that combines atmosphere, smart puzzles, and a theme that keeps you hooked, this is absolutely worth picking up. Highly recommended!"*
There simply aren't enough good things I can say about this game! The artwork is gorgeous, the music is perfectly suited for the game's atmosphere, and the puzzles are challenging without being too overwhelming. I love how much more linear this game is, compared to The Cabinets Of Doctor Arcana. There isn't nearly as much backtracking between rooms as there was in the previous game, which was greatly appreciated. After a lot of trial and error, I was finally able to discover every secret Shadowspire had to offer. Can you?
October 26, 2024 Long ago, when we were mere children, the attic in our family home was always a sanctuary of secrets for us. As we grew older, the magic faded. But not for my brother. He never truly grew up; in his heart, he remained that innocent child, clinging to the enchantment of that dusty space. Today, I found a letter there. Its edges were worn, its seal broken—a crimson wax sigil cracked but recognizable. I didn’t need to read much; I knew exactly what it was. - that damn seductive piece of paper that led my brother into the unknown! The invitation to Arcana Manor... No one saw him go there, but whispers in the dark spoke of a carriage arriving in the dead of night to take him away. That was the last anyone ever heard of him. If I am ever going to find him, I must embark on a journey following his very steps. There’s no other way. The letter seemed to pulse in my hands, as though daring me to accept its challenge. My heart raced as I realized what I had to do. No one returns from Arcana Manor unchanged—if they return at all. October 27, 2024 The gothic gate rose before me like a monument to my own folly. Its black iron spikes gleamed dully in the faint moonlight, and the carved stone columns on either side were etched with runes that seemed to shift when I wasn’t looking. I hesitated, gripping the amulet that had once belonged to my brother, before approaching the gate. The lock required a puzzle to solve—a signature of Arcana’s cruel genius. Once inside, I was met with silence. The manor loomed in the darkness, its windows faintly glimmering like watchful eyes. Shadows moved within, elusive and fleeting, as if the house itself were alive with secrets waiting to be unearthed. The air was heavy, and unease began to creep in. Looking for a clue, I wandered around the estate. That’s when I found the dock behind the manor. It jutted out into the misty waters, with a faintly flickering lantern nearby. A boat waited there, and on its seat lay a black envelope, inscribed with a single word: "Shadowspire." I didn’t know why I was stepping into that boat. What good could possibly come of this? Yet the amulet burned against my chest as if urging me forward. I pushed off from the dock, and the boat slipped silently into the foggy waters. The journey across the sea was haunting. The distant sound of waves crashing against unseen shores mingled with the creak of the boat and the howling wind. Shadows danced on the mist—shapes that seemed human but vanished before I could focus on them. I began to question whether I was truly following my brother or merely walking blindly into whatever darkness had taken him. October 28, 2024 The boat finally ran aground on a rocky shore of a small island, just as dawn began to pierce the fog. Shadowspire loomed above me, its jagged towers piercing the pale sky like claws. The castle felt alive, its very walls radiating unease. The first trial began before I even stepped foot inside—a riddle carved into the massive oaken doors. Solving it brought no relief. The doors groaned open, revealing a cavernous hall filled with flickering torches, eldritch symbols, and a faint, haunting melody that seemed to come from everywhere and nowhere. I am here now, standing at the threshold of the unknown. My quest begins. Though unease coils in my chest and the shadows seem to whisper of lurking dangers, I cannot help but feel an unexpected sense of belonging. This is my destiny. This is where I am supposed to be. "Stay strong, brother", I heard myself say aloud. "I am here now..."
If you enjoyed the first one, you'll enjoy this sequel.
I liked Jewels of the oracle puzzles....this is the same type, with the adventure added of doors and maps...I really had a lot of fun...best game I have played in years. I also played Dr Arcanum cabinets first....also very enjoyable. I rate both games 10/10
Unique and well-made. Solvable for non native speakers.
