This is my first crpg game and second isometric view game and I must say I liked it. The highlight of the game is its story. The combination of murder mystry and fiction goes really nice and it only gets better as we progress in the game. The side quests of the game are also very well designed and interesting. The combat is good. The bosses fights are fun and challenging too. The thing which i hated the most was how repetitive the game becomes after act 1 and it somewhat feels like the game is stretched unnecessarily. The npcs are very annoying , they keep repeating the same dialogue which is pain to the ears. Inventory management, it is headache if you are not fixing it from the very start. Also the puzzles, it seems very interesting and fun till act 1 but as we progress in the game it feels like torture. Overall it 7.5/10 game for me. Looking forward to DOS2 and BG3 now. One more thing............. There are lot of better things to do in life than playing this game.
Great game overall, enjoyed the whole experience. One significant warning and complaint is about the crafting system, it seems a fairly brutal bug exists where sometimes quest related scrolls can be consumed in crafting in place of paper without you noticing, leading to lost game time or a softlocked playthrough. I got screwed after 6 hours of not noticing a scroll directly tied to the last quest was consumed and was forced to finish the game without it.
Very fun game, could have used a bit more signposting though. I wasted soo many hours backtracking.
If you've played the second part and saw this on a discount and thought to yourself: "Hey, Divinity: Original Sin 2 was fun ! Why not learn some more about its world and have more fun ! It can't be that bad !" It can. The story is all over the place and for many quests you will need to look up a guide because the solution to a puzzle is complete nonsense. Over the course you meet a whole lot of unimportant important characters who are mentioned in every other quest yet you won't remember who they are because of how unimportant and ununique they are. You can really see that at some points the developers just wanted to waste your time with insta kill traps. The worst part ? No auto heal. You need to manually heal every single character after each battle (and trap) otherwise you will just die. And it really gets annoying wasting a minute healing your characters just to two steps later step on a mine and have to do it over and over again. Watch a gameplay and don't waste your time, if you really want to play it atleast play it on explorer mode
Get friends and enjoy an amazing adventure full of a lot of pain and suffering! 10/10 would play again!
rough around the edges but overall an enjoyable experience with a good enough story
With Divinity ranking as one of my most anticipated titles . . I had to go back to where it all began. The world, build crafting and tactical turn based combat is absolute peak. I can see how Larian got to Baldurs Gate 3 from such a strong foundation.
