For the price, decent game. Would only recommend while on sale for 5 or less. Otherwise wait for a sale. Only 4 hours of gameplay about without rushing it.
You get to swing a katana around but if you are a weeb then the lack of rainbow hair and big-titty kunoichi might be a culture-shock. Simply put its an interesting little rpg to explore and well worth a purchase,
Huge fan of DISGRACED and everything else I have tried by Corrosive. Feel strongly that Corrosive is the best developer of vintage style high concept JRPGs, delivering modern emergent storytelling concepts to a nostalgic platform. DISGRACED is an ambitious and meticulously realized effort to render a gritty historical fiction type experience through the classic old school JRPG engine we all know and love. It's an absolute delight, and I highly replayable especially with a variety of DLC, some of which I am about to try. 10.10
Stellar effort by one of the best indie devs going imo - Corrosion Studios LLC! The dev(s) have major talent at making really compelling and awesome CRPGS in RPGMaker, using fresh assets and having some of the most remarkable and rewarding character progression, itemization, exploration and more. Very authentic ancient Japan right here, right down to all of the weapon and armor names & more. And this game is right up there with another great they've made, Lawless Lands, as some of their best work. Cheers devs! :)
Love the looks. Runs quick & smooth. Like the story. Great Game, IMO.
Excellent homage to a era of videogames we all should aspire to keep alive. Unique and captivating story with in-depth gameplay and character creation choices. Difficulty isn't a problem if you use your head and pay attention. Personally love the art style and setting.
A fun game, it is a bit short, but for the price it's worth it. I will say that of the 4 stats, only 2 seem to have any real effect. I won't spoiler which ones, but it is a bit sad that half of the stats don't do anything. Replayability is there to an extent, but without a couple of the DLC, it really isn't. The resource kit DLC does nothing, not that the game needs modding, unless you wish to make it more difficult, but there is no way to implement any changes you might make.
Hoo boy, this game is TOUGH AS NAILS. To think there is an even HARDER mode than the default setting... I advise newbies to invest in accuracy based skills as soon as you can since you WILL BE MISSING YOUR ATTACKS A LOT (I despise RNG, VERY MUCH). An RPG set in a fictional rural Japan period, you set out on a quest to overthrow the evil tyrant hell bent on oppressing the people of Japan. This game is deceivingly difficult despite having the traditional RPG Maker appearance. 7 out of 10.
I must say this game was how I met the Corrosion projects. The Japanese theme is something that always interested and the fact that you can be the leader of a rebellion, create my own character led me to buy this game. The game is an open world in which it gives the player a main objective, but not only, as long as the player will explore the map world other places will be unlocked, having side quests, recruit companions, etc. With this the player will gain fame and resources in which he will have to make decisions for the most part based on his leadership of an army being able to transmit command of policies and constructions of commissions. The battle system in my opinion is well balanced (but not for all tastes) can be a bit frustrating at first but with the right choice of various skills the frustrating will ends up soon. The weapons and armor are quite decent, being some better than others, bearing in mind that some weapons and armor is necessary to unlock the Skill to be able to use. The weapons and armor have durability so it is necessary to repair from time to time. The soundtrack of the game has a touch of Japanese music which I loved. What I missed in this game was a more elaborate plot. But apart from that I think the game is pretty polished, given that it uses rpg maker software.
