Ever wanted to try the worst a hidden object game has to offer ? Then this game is for you ! Low resolution images, objects everywhere making the scene resembling to nothing, no story... Seriously...
So, you find objects. And sometimes you play minigames that are related to finding objects. That's true of every HOG out there. But here, instead of wrapping it in a story to add a bit of narrative interest, it's framed in the conceit of a game show, where performance is rewarded by greater winnings -- in other words, a point-based score system with a dollar sign stuck in front of it. But since the points are meaningless, there's no real incentive to strive for more of them -- or even to care how many you have acquired. Which makes the entire set of "game show" elements -- the "Wheel of Fortune" wheel, the smarmy host, and so forth -- just an aggravating waste of time between HOG scenes. The HOG scenes aren't even very good. There's nothing here worth recommending. If the cheesy game show aesthetic amuses you, try the "You Don't Know Jack" series instead.

Got this in a bundle, but this is bad. This is a very bad hidden objects game. First, the resolution is fixed to 1024x768. Second, some objects are unidentifyable. Even after the hint function pointed them out to me, I felt that it would have been impossible to find them, that is how 'well' the game hid the object. The game has a 'relaxed' mode, but I could see any difference when using it. Perhaps it reduced the number of objects? There are some variations to the theme, you find object, you compare scenes, you find items that belong to a certain category, but in that last one I ended up clicking items until one of them was identified as a kitchen item. Don't know what that was because of the poor graphics.
The game has a unique take on the 'Hidden Object' genre, framing it under the concept of a gameshow. It appears interesting at first yes, but unfortunately, squanders its potential. You are assigned a vacation destination at first, which sets the overall theme of that playthrough. You then spin the wheel which determines the prize value of each found item for that round, with finding items consecutively and being the first to find the item before your competitors awarding more money (the game's equivalent of points). Aside from the HOG scenes, you do have a small selection of gameshow-style minigames, which sells the gameshow vibe pretty well. Except, there is literally no point in collecting the cash. The cash you win from completing rounds in the gameshow is just a gimmicky stand-in for the arbitrary point/score system you find in games. This defeats the whole premise of the game of the gameshow concept of competition, and by extension, a superficial time limit to make decisions. The HOG aspect is your box-standard scenes; nothing special. However, given the age of the game, the graphics aren't particularly great and playing on a widescreen monitor exacerbates the problem. Most of the item outlines are very grainy and looks stretched out, making it particularly hard to identify them sometimes. And unless you prefer to strain your eyes to play in Windowed mode which does alleviate the problem, you may find the HOG scenes to be quite frustrating sometimes. Also, while there are different destinations to play for, the gameplay is more or less the same. It just changes the backgrounds of the HOG and affects some of the minigames like the trivia one, since they ask fun facts about the vacation destination. Essentially, once you've played through one destination, you've more or less played what the game can offer, unless you want to try out the minigames you didn't get a chance to play or are a completionist by nature. One destination takes you less than 30 minutes from start to end and it gets repetitive and dull quickly.
Tags: Adventure - WC - Hidden Object Additional Tags: Delete Local Content & Remove from Library TLDR: Low quality gameshow style hidden object. Pretend like you win prizes as only excuse to get dumped in postcard scenes flooded with small items to find. This game has a lot of issues, between the abusive use of color reshades, the complete lack of proprotions, the use of object to obstruct parts of other objects and the occasional modes where no hints are provided there is a lot of frustration to be had. The A.I. opponents represent no threat and serve as a very weak narrative vehicle to motivate you to go forward. Winning fake vacations is not exciting either. All you get for your trouble of going through the same country postcards three times to finish the match is the opportunity to then play that country in standalone mode. The objects have all the qualities of having been randomly placed but they are not. Loading the same postcard twice will place the objects in the same locations they were before. There is the occasional memory card game, spotting 7 differences but they are derivative and arguably poorly implemented Given the sheer overabundance of much better polished hidden object games that either throw in better narrative, better atmosphere, better setting, cleaner art or more interesting puzzles this falls at the bottom of the barrel fairly hard. Removed permanently into hidden library of deleted titles for declutter.
Mindless. but alright....
