Dino Land 「超闘竜烈伝ディノランド」

So this is kind of a tough one to recommend, but I do. There's definitely something here for old school gamers. The pinball action is fun and fast, the graphics look nice for the time, and there are three tables to pick from. Did I say to pick from? I meant to have no clue how to access to the point that I had to go to Gamefaqs to figure out how to see more than the first one. Once I finally accessed the sky table, I was on my last ball and lasted about 90 seconds until I lost and had to start over on table one. This game is pretty obtuse and that is kind of frustrating. But if you like video game pinball there might be enough here for you to like.

Good Remaster of an old digital pinball game. Has good emulator features (rewind / save states). I like the theme! Has the classic obscure mechanics of pinball tables. So expect to be somewhat confused until you figure it out.

Classic videogame pinball that I originally played on the Sega Genesis. It has a cool combo of easy to understand goals and absolutely convoluted videogame logic stuff going on. Read the manual, and don't be afraid to use the save state/rewind mechanics that the game includes.

Updated review (05/03/2026) When I originally posted, I gave this a thumbs down because the audio was broken for me. Ratalaika has since patched the game and indeed, that problem is fixed. This is a re-release of a relatively unknown Mega Drive/Genesis game from 1991. If you know titles like Devil's Crush or Sonic Spinball, this is in a similar vein in that it does a bunch of stuff you can only do in video pinball, including things like sub-tables with boss fights. I don't think any pinball game from this time outdoes Devil's Crush, but this one has some cool ideas in it. Like most Ratalaika "modernizations", this one has a few extra things like rewind and turbo functionality, save states, cheats, a few screen filters and a jukebox function. Those are frankly the bare minimum you should expect on a rerelease like this and that's about all you get aside from achievements. This is just a game ROM running on an open source emulator with a new front end. There's no online leaderboard functionality, no emulator hacks to fix the major slowdown in spots and the default controller mapping is bizarre with no way to remap it. I've seen less featured rereleases than this, but not by much. All that said, this is also a cheap offering and a way to play a hard to find interesting pinball relic from this era with ease. Unless you're a retro or pinball enthusiast, this might not be for you, but as someone who is both of those, I think it's some good fun for the price.

Great for people who want to use slots but without much risk. A bit tedious at the first few minutes but fun when fully locked in. IN MY OWN OPINION, it is better than all other classic style arcade games especially because of it's regular fixes.
