About
Julian Luxemburg has prepared a dinner for two at his place – but things go awry when the date does not show up and he is left waiting at his dinner table, the clock’s ticking growing unbearably loud.
„Dinner Date” is the character portrait of Julian: by becoming his subconsciousness you gain a clear vantage point on the worries which take a hold of him. As the wait for the beautiful girl grows longer it becomes evident that Julian’s real problems may not even begin originate the girl: what of his work and his boss? And what of the headhunter, his fascination with Byron and his friendship with Jerry who, all things considered, was ultimately the person who pushed Julian to go on this date?
You are not merely listening – in the unprecedented role as his subconsciousness you tap the table, look at the clock and, as Julian bares more of his mind, reluctantly start to eat, your actions resonating with Julian’s thoughts to form an absolutely singular form of intimacy.
In this manner you will experience „Dinner Date”: with some glasses of wine, some bread, some soup - and with a clock which slowly mocks the constant wait for when she comes, this elusive girl who will solve everything.

There is no gameplay in this 20 minute "game". Also, if you're going on a date with a Japanese girl, you should probably learn how to properly pronounce her name.
It's nice. Not life-changing or amazing, but a fine and unique experience. There are two things you should be aware about this before buying: -It's a short interactive film in which you have little to no power, because you are only the subconscious mind of the protagonist. -It lasts no more than 20 minutes. If you're ok with that, you can try Dinner Date, and maybe you'll like it.
I guess it's neat as an art concept or whatever, but it's not a game. You don't do anything except listen to the protagonist's inner monologue, and tap keys to make him touch his face, swish his wine, etc. Again, neat, but not a game and it's strange there would be any charge for this.
Fine little story.
Waste of time. (even though it's only 20 minutes long) What's even the point of this? Experimental game? Artsy game? I just don't get it. If you wanna do your own little experiment, go for it, but why put it on Steam and call it a game? 20% score for 20 minutes of "playtime"
I dont know what happened! :)
Summary
A short experimental narrative experience about being stood up and what goes on within a persons mind. Pros + Interesting narrative Cons - Not conventional game
Overview
Dinner Date is a short experimental narrative experience where you are the subconscious of Julian, who is anxiously waiting for his date to arrive. Most of the game has you making choices for Julian while he makes comments either in his thoughts or verbally it is unclear. The comments mostly revolve around the date he's waiting for, his life, choices you make, and the time. It is definitely an interesting experience though it really isn't a game, so don't expect it going in. Recommend picking up when on sale as well.
at the time, the first thing i said was that it costs no more than a drink. surely I wont regret my purchase, right? I was wrong.
