I like the game. The only thing I want so far is a consist creator and a route selection so I can choose my own consists while running a long route.
First time driving a train. I will lose days of my life. Outstanding way to spend my time. Seems good to me.
Bought DRS a while ago and only played it for 2h. It was not a bad simulator but I just didn't get hooked. I think it was too less of a "game" inside this simulator, for me at least. But I read about a big gameplay update which should introduce a career, achievements ui changes, etc. So I waited. The "gemaplay update" is now released and I am really happy about the progress this simulator made. Careere mode is engaging, Achievements are motivating and the UI has cool little details like a rotating cog if you change the gear or the gradient indicator which moves related to the gradient. Developer is really activ and patches bugs regularly.
This sim is truly fantastic the developer has done a great job especially with the recent update and career mode. Have played train sims for years way back from Microsoft train simulator days and gotten bored and fed up with DTGs TSW and overpriced DLC with bugs and glitches. This sim has filled my train sim fix. Highly highly recommend the community is lovely and not toxic like others with helpful people and best of all the moding available something TSW lacks. Honestly buy this sim it is a great price and you will not be disappointed. You will be part of a great community and its discord where the developer is active and communicates with his community and fixes things that need fixing.
default XBox controller controls remind me of the Japanese and Korean sims, but geared DMU are a challenge here or in TSW. It introduces you quite gently to the problems you will have.
The last update made the game about 90% better, very good indeed, I wish it also had electric locomotives like class 86-87, or steam locomotives and that it was possible to place the UI interface at the top of the screen, like in TSW. The only things missing are already on the roadmap, so I hope this game ends well complete, honestly I'm surprised how good this game is and in certain aspects it's better than train sim world. The only bug I've faced is some mountains that are in the middle of the tracks and every time I open the game even while using the keyboard the game thinks I'm using a controller for some reason. Overall, a very good early access game, I don't regret buying it
Amazing Train Simulator with a lot of potential; all for $20~.
This game is very fun and challenging at the same time, I have only played it for about 4 hours as of writing this but the performance for the game is amazing since it uses Unity rather than Unreal Engine like more popular train sims use that my terrible PC cannot handle without blowing up. Overall, love the game and how you can mod it I have already tried a few mods out and so far they are running well I just think the game needs some more feature added to it and some of that to be outside of their roadmap maybe such as a dedicated guard mode for Loco Passenger services and Railcar passenger services as well but no other complaints besides the camera system that has given me multiple penalties when I want to admire the scenery.
This game is amazing, it feels, plays and looks way better than DTG products. It's amazing how a single indie dev could achieve such an enjoyable game. If you like rail sims, buy this, and support the developer, you won't regret!
After the dev rugpulled us by pivoting to a different game, we finally got another major update and its marquee feature is a new UI. Which would be fine if it was *good* UI but it is not. Even leaving that aside, this game is too much of a one-trick pony to justify the asking price. The routes that are included feel incomplete and feel "fake" in that everything is just built in ways that don't feel very plausible. I'm disappointed that this game, which looked really promising at one time, just kinda completely stalled. I'm also somewhat disinclined to check out the dev's other projects.
