Prices
Each in the currency that store quoted — not converted: the gap between two rows is the publisher's pricing, not an exchange rate.
Availability
We put this game to every storefront we collect. A market that answered not sold has told us something about the game; a market we never asked has not, and the two are never drawn the same.
Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 11.71/day in the week to Aug 24 → 16.71/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 24 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 9 places towards #1, and the 2,419 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

14 of 15 markets; the rest we haven't asked for this title, not markets where it is unavailable.
14 on sale1 answered “not sold”0 we did not ask
The 1 “not sold” market is read from the Steam price pass of Sep 18: that day the store answered for this game elsewhere and gave no price there. The 14 priced markets are the same rows as the table above — each the latest price we hold, dated here when it is older than that pass. The 0 marked “not asked” were not put to this store at all — either it has no storefront there or we do not collect it yet, and neither is a statement about the game. A refusal is a refusal on one day; a store can list a title again tomorrow.

I haven't played all 3 games yet, but I will update this review accordingly. I haven't really played any DMC games before, but I have seen the new animated show, and saw memes of Dante dancing with a pizza, and Vergil (along with the plastic lawn chair) being the storm that is approaching. What I am meaning to say, is that I am staring to play these games in order, as a complete noob. I am playing these games on the SteamDeck. Devil May Cry 1: Difficulty: I was a bit afraid to start playing this game, because people told me that it's pretty hard, and I haven't really played hack and slash games before, except the NieR series and Hades, but those are different. I found that DMC is not easy, but it's certainly no Dark Souls. I have died 4 times, 3 times in the beginning when I didn't know what I was doing, and 1 time to the final boss, but I only played on the normal difficulty, and I know that the others are way harder and you have to be way more careful, grind and learn the moves of all enemies on those harder difficulties. The fighting is iconic, you can chain up a lot of cool combos, and I know that this game is the father of hack and slash games, but, sometimes it feels more like a puzzle game than a fighting game, because every enemy and boss has a weakness or gimmick, and if you know those, they became easy to control. So you can't force your way through this game, you have to approach every fight carefully, experiment, read Dante's notes on the enemies, and find the enemy's weakness. Also, you have to fight every boss 3-4 times, so by the 3. or 4. time, you will know most of their move set and weaknesses, which makes the fights a bit boring on normal difficulty. What makes the fights hard, are the fixed camera angles, which you can't change. Even though the game is 3D, every camera angle is set up in one position, which sometimes makes it hard to see where you are going, or sometimes you can't even see the enemies you are fighting because of them, and you have to lean on sound cues, or use the aim option because then Dante will look in the enemy's direction, so you can tell where they are, but you still won't be able to see what attack they are preparing. There is some platforming in this game too, which is not a problem, but the camera angles sometimes make those really hard too, because they make it hard to judge the distance and the angle of the platforms. Also you can't stand too close to the edge because sometimes Dante just straight up jumps down instead of jumping to the other platform. So you have to stay close enough to the edge so he can make the jump, but not too close so he will jump down automatically instead. Some people might rage quit over bosses, but I almost stopped playing because of a hard platforming section. (I watched a Youtube video later on that part, and found that most people agreed with this in the comment section). Alongside fighting, the game mostly consists of puzzles, you have to find items and use them to open doors and proceed. The game certainly gives you guidance with inscriptions, but they still can be a bit confusing sometimes, and the game never really holds your hand. There is no tutorial (except for the swimming sections, that part starts with a screen that explains the controls), and you have to figure out the controls for yourself (I didn't find out that I have to hold the aim button when using my sword and move the joystick to different directions to do different moves until like mission 17, I was just pressing the fight button on its own). So the age of the game is certainly showing in case of game design, but that doesn't make it bad, it just makes it a product of its time, that inspired a whole new genre so we certainly can't fault it for not having it all figured out yet. Visuals and music: The visuals are also certainly a product of their time, but they are not bad, I personally found the style charming and nostalgic. The vibes are immaculate, they have that certain 2000s dark fantasy charm we are missing nowadays. In same ways, this game reminded me of Dragon Age Origins, which is one of my favourite games ever. Especially the music in the power up screen, and the dark, gory maps at the end of the game. The game is very edgy, sometimes a bit too over the top, so it goes around to being goofy again, some might call it cringe and cheugy, but it still has that certain charm that many people love. Dante is the OG aura farmer. Performance: For me, the cutscenes weren't synced up with the music/voice acting for some reasons, but I know that it's not the game's fault, it must have been a compatibility issue. I am sure I could have fixed it somehow if I looked it up online, but it didn't bother me enough to do something about it. All in all: The game shows its age, but it's still iconic, and inspired a whole genre. It's good to look back to see how far gaming has come. If you want some 2000s nostalgia, I recommend the first game, but get ready for some not gamer friendly design. Also, the HD collection has all 3 first games, so even if the first one doesn't interest you, the collection might still be worth to pick up, especially on sale. Devil May Cry 2: To be updated. Devil May Cry 3: To be updated.
Game is so good even a Devil May Cry.
