'Detective VR: NFT Secret Files' is a puzzle room style game in which you play the role of an amateur detective trying to find out what happened to someone who collects NFTs. To be fair the game looks good and the puzzles should offer a challenge even to the most hardened of puzzle room players. Just be aware that I have no idea how much content there is because I got stuck in the first room because there is no hint system in place, so you really do have to figure it all out as you go along. I'm not sure about the price yet, but I will give it a thumbs up for now and crack on with it till the end and update this review when done.
👑 Powered by HoI 4 Deu Curators group in German / English 👑

 Follow Main group
 Follow Second group
English: ----------------------------------> Detective VR: NFT secret Files by MightyPlus is an Escaperoom with a story behind it. In Detective VR we embody a private investigator who, after the mysterious "disappearance" of his friend - an art collector, looks around his apartment on his own. In the apartment, which is filled with fantastic masterpieces, we now search for clues that can explain what happened and why. We can find out what really happened to our friend through various note sheets. Of course, these are not lying around openly in the apartment. Our task now is to find these notes and for that we have to solve a lot of puzzles. The puzzles in Detective VR: NFT secret Files are more for experienced puzzlers, as it is not always easy to follow the puzzles logically. However, there is a hint system. We only have to hold the magic "Merkel rhombus" in the air and a somewhat cryptic help text for the current puzzle appears. This cleverly guides us from puzzle to puzzle, and we don't have to go wolfing around. However, the hint texts are not always easy to understand, they are not supposed to be solution slogans. But also the developer himself is willing to help in the forum. Sometimes you are blind and don't see the switch ... The controls are perfectly fine. There is only Teleport at the moment of the review, but Free Locomotion will be added later. The teleport works great and I didn't miss the free locomotion that is so important to me. What was a bit annoying though, the hands in the game don't quite match the angle of the index controllers. Items that you pick up and release spawn back to their place of origin, which can be a bit annoying, but helps to keep track. The handling of the pinboard is a bit awkward, though, to swap note sheets you have to put them on top of each other, I tried for minutes to swap the sheets with two hands, but they spawn back when I let go of them. see above. Of course I would have liked to see more interactive objects, but Detective VR offers quite a bit to grab onto. The graphics in Detective VR are super realistic. Everything looks razor-sharp and the great pictures of Hieronymus Bosch and other eccentric artists are shown to their best advantage. The game is worth it for the art experience alone. Museums are boring when you can solve a mysterious puzzle like this one. The music and sound are just as great as the graphics, not quite but especially in the last room the sound effects in front of the paintings are wonderful. A great idea. It makes the pictures come to life even more. The story is pretty wacky and I would have liked to know more. Let me surprise you. The end is told to us by a great movie, too bad I could have puzzled a little more than the nearly 3 hours. According to the developer, a prequel should follow... Detective VR: NFT secret files, a wacky story. For art lovers and fans of more challenging escape rooms, despite the short length, definitely worth a look. 👀Discover the Matrix on my curator page. 👑 Powered by HoI 4 Deu Curators group in German / English 👑

 Follow Main group
 Follow Second group

Experienced on the Oculus Quest 2
You can view my review & gameplay here: https://youtu.be/vnwnQcIpXf4 This is a difficult game to recommend because it does have some noticeable flaws. The biggest thing is that it's teleportation only with snap turning. It also doesn't have much content. Game took me about two hours to complete, but I think it would take most people 1 hour. The game only has 1 big room, then 1 small room. Game is running on the Unreal Engine. While this game does look better than the vast majority of VR puzzle / escape rooms, it also has some performance issues. On my RTX 3080, I was getting steady 80 frames per second. Yes, it seems as though the game is hard capped at 80 fps. VR interactions are very clunky. You basically hover your hands over and object and press grab and the item will auto lock into your hands, then automatically snap back into place or go into your inventory. Your inventory system is pretty bad where there's 4 circles and you hover your hand over the spaces to grab then press a button to go to the second page of the inventory. The story is paper thin. There are VOs, but they have an awful sound mix and it looks like there was a problem with the microphone when recording the audio. On the other hand, I did enjoy the puzzles in the game. They had the right amount of challenge and could usually be solved just by being observant near the area of the puzzle. There's also nice details in the rooms. Overall, I would say this game is overpriced. It's also better than the average VR puzzle / escape room. If you enjoy puzzles and don't mind paying a premium price for a game that's better than average, then I would recommend this one. Otherwise, I would say wait for a sale. EDIT: The 80 fps lock has now been removed, and the game works perfectly also in 90, 120 and 144 Hz. With an RTX 3090 I can now use res 450% in solid 90 fps, but it works best with no motion smoothing. The game looks and performs mindblowingly awesome. There's no finger tracking, but lighting and textures etc. are of the highest quality. Also no full locomotion, but like Room VR you're here to solve puzzles - there's teleport though and snap turning. Unfortunately I should have eaten more veggies as a kid to grow a larger brain, lol, so I'm still working on the *prolonged dry cough!* puzzles. There's a hint system, but I'm stubborn - I need no help, lol. If you never use the hint system, this game may easily last for 5 - 10 hours... Do get this game if you like Room VR, Detective VR should work on many rigs (using res 200 % I bet a GTX 1080 is fine too). My rating for now - 8/10, but I need to crack to puzzles... Res 450% didn't cause more than 10GB vram use according to fpsVR, so res 200% should be safe for 8GB vram cards. My rig: Asus Strix OC RTX 3090, i9 10900K, 32GB 3200Mhz, Samsung SSD 860 EVO 4TB and Win 10 Pro.
Just started, but the flow of which puzzles to solve next is not clear. You get clues, but they don't seem to be progressive or logical based on the puzzle you just solved. Will update more later. Update. Did I pass the game? I don't know. I only solved a couple of easy puzzles ant then went upstairs and viewed a cut-scene and it booted me to the main menu. Very short if that was all there was to it.
For one, it's not worth the price. A very badly developed and lacking real interaction type of game. Just some small examples for starters. If you pick up an object from one room to use it as a "reference", and carry to another room and accidentally miss click. That object will return to its original location and not just drop to the floor with real animation etc. The sound is very bad and no real ambient feel and just stop, restart when you teleport to another location 1-2 feet away lol. - no locomotion - sound quality is like wav (no ambient transitions in same area after teleporting) - poorly optimized with graphical tearing or stuttering - 50% of objects are interactive, and the 50% that are only have minor movement I refunded **HTC Vive Pro user
Not fun; controls are very finicky, and the game is relatively short, but the game length is extended by illogical, very difficult puzzles, frustrating hint system, and another VR game where you are simply wandering aimlessly. Very limited play area (only two rooms), horrible movement controls; simply stated this game is one of the worse VR games that I have played (and I have been playing VR games for years). Not a well developed game..... poorly optimized, audio is terrible, and definitely not worth 19.99 or 16.99! I am using HTC vive Pro with state of the art PC and Nvidia 3080 ti card.
As others have stated, controls are clunky, audio is horrible, and the game is very short. I mourn the 90 minutes of life I lost playing this game.
