Boring. So boring. Often the interaction points don't work and even often the whole investigation and putting the clues together doesn't make sense. Don't buy it. There are many games for free which are better.
DETECTIVE – Scene Crime is a first-person investigative mystery developed by k148 Game Studio and published by JanduSoft that places players directly at the center of multiple crime scenes, challenging them to analyze evidence, reconstruct timelines, and determine what truly happened. Rather than focusing on cinematic storytelling or dramatic action sequences, the game leans into the procedural aspects of detective work. It invites players to slow down, observe their surroundings carefully, and think critically about the details presented. The result is an experience that prioritizes deduction and logic over spectacle. The game is structured around five separate cases, each unfolding in a different environment and involving distinct circumstances. From a suspicious hospital death to violent incidents in public spaces and private venues, the variety of locations aims to keep the investigations from feeling repetitive. Each crime scene is presented as a self-contained mystery, requiring players to explore the environment, inspect objects, and consider witness accounts or contextual clues. The settings are grounded and realistic, emphasizing plausibility rather than stylized drama. Gameplay centers on free exploration within crime scenes from a first-person perspective. Players move through rooms and open areas, scanning for relevant objects and piecing together information manually. There are no flashy investigative overlays or constant objective markers guiding every step. Instead, progress depends on your ability to interpret evidence and connect facts logically. The game encourages note-taking and careful thought, mirroring the mental process of real investigative work. This design approach fosters immersion for those who enjoy intellectual challenges. One of the defining characteristics of DETECTIVE – Scene Crime is its deliberate pacing. There are no time pressures or action sequences pushing the player forward. Instead, the experience unfolds at a steady rhythm, allowing players to take their time examining each clue. This measured pace reinforces the realism of the detective role but may feel slow for players accustomed to more dynamic mystery adventures. The satisfaction comes not from dramatic twists but from successfully synthesizing information into a coherent solution. Visually, the game adopts a straightforward 3D presentation. Environments are functional and designed to support investigation rather than impress with graphical detail. Lighting and layout are structured to ensure that important clues are visible without being overtly highlighted. While the visuals may not reach the polish of larger-budget titles, they serve the game’s investigative focus by keeping attention on evidence rather than aesthetic spectacle. The sound design is similarly restrained, maintaining an atmosphere appropriate to crime scene analysis without overdramatization. However, the game’s commitment to minimal guidance can sometimes blur the line between challenging and unclear. Because clues are not always clearly differentiated from background details, players may occasionally feel uncertain about what is significant. This can lead to moments of frustration, particularly if progress hinges on noticing subtle elements. Additionally, while the five-case structure provides variety, some investigations may feel less layered than players might expect from more narrative-driven detective games. Despite these limitations, DETECTIVE – Scene Crime offers a focused experience for players who value logical reasoning and patience. Its emphasis on player-driven deduction distinguishes it from mystery games that rely heavily on scripted events or guided conclusions. Those who enjoy piecing together evidence independently and forming their own interpretations will likely appreciate the autonomy it provides. Ultimately, DETECTIVE – Scene Crime stands as a niche investigative title that embraces realism and analytical gameplay over dramatic storytelling. It does not attempt to reinvent the genre or overwhelm players with complex mechanics. Instead, it delivers a methodical, clue-based mystery experience that rewards careful observation and thoughtful deduction. While it may not satisfy players seeking cinematic narratives or high production values, it offers a grounded and intellectually engaging challenge for those willing to approach each case with patience and attention to detail. Rating: 5/10
I am used to playing very jumpy indie horror games - which I love! But it was so nice to turn on the really big brain going in as the role as a crime scene investigator. I played on mouse and keyboard and it worked fine for me. This game needs some polishing for sure, but I really think it has some great potentionals! Inputs and wishes: - Some translation errors (in English) that needs to be fixed and corrected. - A summary of the case once you solve it; backstory, what happen and motive.
