Detective Instinct: Farewell, My Beloved

Great for fans of the Ace Attorney series, it's a bit light on plot and especially gameplay, investigation and deduction, but it has the same nice aesthetic, atmosphere, mood, OST and graphics.

It’s pretty short but well paced. Still, I’d say it leans more toward a visual novel than an adventure game: it’s very linear, and there aren’t enough elements for you to really get stuck. That said, the retro visual style is really well done, and there’s never a dull moment. It’s no game of the year, but it’s still a fun little diversion… and now I feel like playing golf.

The character design / sprite animation was killer. The art team knocked it out of the park. The music is well executed as well. I don’t think the story quite reaches the high highs you might want it to, but it’s never boring during the brisk runtime. I hope the team gets to make more games like this. They have the chops. Played on Steam Deck. It was a great way to play.

I went in expecting something heartfelt, melancholic, and with excellent presentation. That's exactly what I got.

OMG! What a short and cozy visual novel! It contain Agatha Christy and Alfred Hitchcock vibes and allusions+Ace attorney spirit and music vibes+PC-98 visual novel vibes+ and Snatcher nostalgy! I like it! And through all game i thinking about - Man, this game needs for to be perfect just one little thing - it's frame like in pc-98 visual novels!!!!

・良かったところ スーパーファミコンを思わせる美麗なグラフィック、BGM、操作性も素晴らしい。たまらん。 雰囲気も最高。謎解きは大して難しくなく、コマンド式アドベンチャーゲームなのに理不尽なハマりは無い。 個人的にはボイス無しなのが嬉しい。やっぱりコマンド式はポポポ音だよ。 ・悪かったところ どんなにゆっくりやっても５時間でクリアできるボリューム（ただ、理不尽なハマリとか入れて伸ばすぐらいならこれでいいとも言える）。 推理を文字入力するときにメモが見れない。結果、アレ？あの人なんて名前だっけ…ってなる。 矢印で調べる時にパッドの左上を押すと矢印が消えるバグがある（マウスを使えば復帰可能）。 ・総評 ボリュームは正直少ないと思いますが（とは言え昔のファミコンアドベンチャーだったら初見でも普通に３時間ぐらいでクリアできたから…(;'∀')（笑））それでもどっぷり浸かれるクオリティです。 最初日本人が作ったのかと思ったけど違うんですね。日本製コマンド式アドベンチャーゲームへのものすごいリスペクトを感じます。某ゲームの影響を受けているとは思いますが、そのせいですんなり親しめます。 PVやスクリーンショットを見て「これは…！(ﾟдﾟ)」と思ったなら絶対おすすめ！
