Nice game
Destiny or Fate is a card-battler with roguelike mechanics that I got free on Steam back in August 2020. The art style and animations are pretty solid. All the monsters and characters have unique designs. There are 15 characters total, each with different abilities. You start with just one and unlock the others as you play. Each run has five maps where you move from spot to spot, choosing paths that lead to normal battles, elite fights, random encounters, or the one shop. It shows you what you'll get before you go there. Then at the end of each map, there's a boss fight. The game feels really unbalanced though. A lot of cards are basically useless because they cost too much mana for the little damage they do. You can convert monsters to fight for you, but they die fast and upgrading them costs a lot early on. Even after I unlocked some permanent upgrades, the difficulty barely got better. Playing for a few rounds was okay, but it felt bland compared to other card games like this. It doesn't have much depth. The UI is clunky and all over the place. Plus there's often no explanation for gameplay elements like status effects. The biggest problem is the bugs. Other players report crashes all the time and losing progress when they save. Some even get corrupted saves. The achievements are bugged too and you have to unlock them all in one session. I actually left the game running for 4-5 days straight to get all the achievements. I was lucky it didn't crash on me. My actual playtime is probably around 30 hours. The "Lose 10 times" achievement even unlocked at the same time as the "Get defeated for the first time" one. The game doesn't get updates anymore, so these problems aren't getting fixed. If you're an achievement hunter, this might be a dealbreaker.

Wanna be darkest dungeon
Score: 2/5 The Good 1. Drawn art style is very solid. Interesting, colorful variety of character/creature designs. 2. Many solid mechanics, including creature collection, perma-death. The Bad 1. Sound mixing is atrocious, often extremely loud at the beginning of battles. 2. Balance is all over the place. 3. Animations are very lacking. 4. Poor quality writing. Maybe translation issues? It was difficult to understand what the consequences of my actions would be inside and outside of combat. 5. Finicky, clunky combat controls. I would often have to click an action twice to get it to register. Interface/system lacks a few core QoL features present in many other competing deck-builders, like unneccessary extra required clicks for most actions as opposed to click and drag, and again extra clicks to end each turn. Pointless extra clicks posing as "choices" for combat rewards where you have no information on what the differences are. 6. The intro sequence is rough. Tutorial does not give you enough information on how the game's less common mechanics work. Character's goal and the delivery for the narrative exposition are lame.
I cannot recommend this game in its current state. Though the game has some interesting mechanics, the translation on the cards and explanations leave too much ambiguity. There have been no updates for years so I doubt it will ever get fixed.
It's a little buggy and incredibly unbalanced. It was very difficult in the second level but I found a combo that was completely unbalanced and finished the game.
