Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 4/day in the week to Jul 21 → 28.4/day in the week after.
Too few observations to say whether a discount moves this store's chart at all: across the last 30 days Steam · Top Sellers · Poland has just 18 day-to-day chart moves that followed a price cut, against 2,498 that did not. We are publishing the count instead of a direction — 20 is the fewest we will draw a conclusion from, and price collection outside the United States began on 6 August 2026.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.
About
Drive massive trains across beautiful, challenging landscapes. Deliver cargo between industries, spread over an open world. Earn money, buy new licenses and advance your career as a train engineer, all in seamless, emergent experience. For PC and VR.

256 km² of unrestricted open world, where you can walk or drive trains uninterrupted. Covered in rich vegetation, landscape, water bodies, and an extensive railroad network, the world spans numerous diverse industries and towns. Experience seamless day and night cycles, with dynamic clouds, fog, rain and sounds spicing it all up. Change switches, drive, haul and leave trains at desired locations - the choice is yours.

Advance your career by taking deliveries and earning money. Master efficient driving and look after vehicles to minimize fuel and repair costs. Buy new items and licenses that grant you access to more vehicles and orders. Optionally, you can also play in sandbox mode where economy is not in focus - where you can just have fun doing anything you want without consequences.

Take part in a dynamic industrial chain, where deliveries are procedurally generated for more than 80 cargo types. The output of locations varies, and almost no two deliveries are the same. Haul cargo between industries, or do the shunting and logistics that help the stations create more deliveries. Pick orders and move cargo as desired, according to your own plans, licensing and hauling capacity.

Experience in-depth intricacies of six realistic, accurate steam and diesel locomotive classes with varying transmission types, plus some extra vehicles. Through behavior, sounds, physics and interaction, their characteristics are designed to fully immerse and challenge you. On top of that, you'll find yourself spontaneously involved in coupling, servicing, brake securing, shunting and other railroad procedures.

As a side activity, you may find yourself investing time and money finding and restoring unique locomotive variant derelicts, which you can then customize with numerous useful gadgets. Gadgets are various devices that can improve driving performance, such as digital speedometers, clinometers, colored ambient lights, distance trackers, etc. You can buy them in shops and install them wherever you want, using various tools.

Built from the ground up for both PC and VR, Derail Valley lets you experience it spatially present with the supported mainstream PC VR devices - truly inside the simulator and using your own hands to operate the controls. This is the ultimate, closest experience to being a real railroader! You can seamlessly alternate your progress between the PC and VR sessions, as you prefer.

Be it a derailment, collision, blown traction motor, boiler explosion, brake failure, HAZMAT disaster or even something as mild as wheelslip on a rainy slope, Derail Valley doesn't just present you with a popup screen when you make a mistake - you get to experience the full consequences of your actions, even if they're a rare occurrence.
Whether you are new to trains or an experienced veteran, the game features tutorials that are quick to get you going. A comprehensive user manual also exists, for when you want to dive deep into the details.

I have 140 hours in this game, and I can confidently say it's the best train simulator I've ever played. it's genuinely physics-based. Unlike other train simulators like TSW that follow an invisible predefined path, every movement feels grounded in real physics, which makes the experience immersive. That said, I think there are a few areas that could be refined: 1. Wheel-to-rail contact Currently, each wheelset appears to use only two rail contact points—one near the center on each side. As a result, on a six-wheel bogie (three wheels per side), the middle axle follows the rails correctly while the front and rear axles can sometimes appear to float rather than roll naturally. It would be fantastic if every physical wheel had its own wheel-to-rail contact and interaction, so that every wheel genuinely rolls on the rails using the physics simulation. I believe this would significantly improve realism. 2. Suspension behavior The suspension currently seems to move only in the vertical direction. It doesn't appear to allow the bogie or suspension to pitch forward or backward under braking, acceleration, or uneven track. Because of this, the wheels can occasionally feel a little floaty. Adding realistic pitch motion to the suspension would make the locomotives and rolling stock feel much more grounded. 3. A more alive world I'd love to see the world become more dynamic with AI traffic. AI freight trains, passenger trains (even if they don't have passengers), working signals, and more active railway routine would make the railway network feel much more alive and immersive. 4. Sound design The wheel-to-rail sounds could be much more dynamic and mechanical. Real trains produce a gritty steel-on-steel sound that constantly changes with speed, curves, switches, track condition, and wheel loading. Adding more gritty, realistic wheel, flange, and suspension sounds would make the trains feel significantly heavier and further enhance the immersion. Overall, this is already an outstanding Train simulator
Very good gaming got addicted and cannot stop hauling freight!

I have basically played this game non stop for like a week and I am still not bored. So much fun and I cant believe that it is still early access as it already has so many fun features. The game is really RAM heavy and its performance requirements of only 15GB of ram is a bit of an understatement as this game pulls a lot even in low quality presets. and the lighting at some stations is very overwhelming at night. This game does a very good job at keeping you engaged as there are so many licenses to get, so many trains to drive, and so many mechanics that make this game so much fun. Very much recommended especially for the price
fajna bardzo wciągająca polecam :]
