Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 4/day in the week to Jul 21 → 28.4/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 23 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 14 places towards #1, and the 2,515 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.
About
Drive massive trains across beautiful, challenging landscapes. Deliver cargo between industries, spread over an open world. Earn money, buy new licenses and advance your career as a train engineer, all in seamless, emergent experience. For PC and VR.

256 km² of unrestricted open world, where you can walk or drive trains uninterrupted. Covered in rich vegetation, landscape, water bodies, and an extensive railroad network, the world spans numerous diverse industries and towns. Experience seamless day and night cycles, with dynamic clouds, fog, rain and sounds spicing it all up. Change switches, drive, haul and leave trains at desired locations - the choice is yours.

Advance your career by taking deliveries and earning money. Master efficient driving and look after vehicles to minimize fuel and repair costs. Buy new items and licenses that grant you access to more vehicles and orders. Optionally, you can also play in sandbox mode where economy is not in focus - where you can just have fun doing anything you want without consequences.

Take part in a dynamic industrial chain, where deliveries are procedurally generated for more than 80 cargo types. The output of locations varies, and almost no two deliveries are the same. Haul cargo between industries, or do the shunting and logistics that help the stations create more deliveries. Pick orders and move cargo as desired, according to your own plans, licensing and hauling capacity.

Experience in-depth intricacies of six realistic, accurate steam and diesel locomotive classes with varying transmission types, plus some extra vehicles. Through behavior, sounds, physics and interaction, their characteristics are designed to fully immerse and challenge you. On top of that, you'll find yourself spontaneously involved in coupling, servicing, brake securing, shunting and other railroad procedures.

As a side activity, you may find yourself investing time and money finding and restoring unique locomotive variant derelicts, which you can then customize with numerous useful gadgets. Gadgets are various devices that can improve driving performance, such as digital speedometers, clinometers, colored ambient lights, distance trackers, etc. You can buy them in shops and install them wherever you want, using various tools.

Built from the ground up for both PC and VR, Derail Valley lets you experience it spatially present with the supported mainstream PC VR devices - truly inside the simulator and using your own hands to operate the controls. This is the ultimate, closest experience to being a real railroader! You can seamlessly alternate your progress between the PC and VR sessions, as you prefer.

Be it a derailment, collision, blown traction motor, boiler explosion, brake failure, HAZMAT disaster or even something as mild as wheelslip on a rainy slope, Derail Valley doesn't just present you with a popup screen when you make a mistake - you get to experience the full consequences of your actions, even if they're a rare occurrence.
Whether you are new to trains or an experienced veteran, the game features tutorials that are quick to get you going. A comprehensive user manual also exists, for when you want to dive deep into the details.

great realistic simulator and once u get all the licences u can do so much stuff also has a good sandbox mods for this game are cool and add a funny side
Best train sim ive played yet. i love the free roaming, you can just walk around and or take a train anywhere on the map. dont need a job to fool around but youll need the money to pay for fuel and such on your personal locos or pay the fees at the office on the random spawned locos. i like comfort mode its less stressful and fun (quicker) to do a playthrough. just started a realistic playthrough and now im finding new fun challenges to face. a bit lacking id say in the number of different locos (cant imagine the difficulty of making just 1 new loco, respect to you devs) but if i want mods i guess there are some out there, im just sticking to base game myself tho. i really like the customization, like lights, googly eyes, and gadgets. little odd theres limits on mounts for the gadgets but i guess it makes sense not to over populate the session? idk.. i found out the best way for me to play in VR mode is to use steam link rather than the meta link cable, meta app was screwing it all up. runs good for me on medium and low, its just super dark at night lol. pc version runs good on medium and high with the foliage alone turned down to medium or low. it makes finding the demos easier when its turned off and you can see everything lol. after just over 100 hours of playing my only nit picks are the jagged terrain changes id see along the tracks when going from a hill to flat land, and only 2 times have i been spamming teleport (F key) and somehow started falling through the ground into the abyss lol. i wish the de6 was able to use the remote controller but whatever i guess. and kinda have to make a reason to go back to your house in game tho, been there once to look at it but never had to go back. OVER ALL im glad i got the game and excited for the (far away) update coming thatll be game changing. 9 out of 10, im waiting for a sale before i buy again to send to an old friend.

Incredibly fun, and I only have a passing interest in trains. Actually has gameplay compared to TSW or other similar games, and while I've completed basically everything there is to do in the current build (except properly learn the steam locos, they scare me ><), the roadmap for this game is excellent, and I'm incredibly excited for the huge upgrade v100 promises to be!! Absolutely worth the time and money, making a megaconsist and actually delivering it all successfully is incredibly fun
i derailed 10/10
un buen juego entretenido con un buen reto para jugar por horas
10/10 would derail again.
yes
Well, usually I don't paly Early access but I really had fun driving these trains for 20 hours! No game crash and almost no bugs (just fell trough the map once in 20 hours on an early access. Not bad). Gameplay is fun and satisfying. Did not try steam locomotives yet. The world is still pretty empty and lifeless but I guess it's a WIP. I'll stop for now and come back once the game is finished to enjoy its full potential. Looking forward to it
Amazing game.
