This is a great combination of exploration and story. I loved the art style and the writing was great. I really connected with the characters and it made getting though the story that much more impactful. Highly recommend.
Most of the negative reviews here are talking about the movement and controls, but to me that isn't really the biggest issue (although yes, it is bad), because that could honestly be managed, if not by patience then there are difficulty options. The biggest problem to me is the game is just utterly dull. Even in an game that is going for "dread" vibes (which I do like) games are still supposed to be enjoyable to engage with and this one isn't. Moving around the world just is not enjoyable for me. I see no potential for combat to develop and maybe exploration would, but it's so boring I just can't bring myself to continue.
One of the most unique and memorable metroidvanias out there. A legit horror metroidvania. It has a few issues, namely many bomb and missile upgrades that are rarely ever used outside of boss fights, and the final section seemed to bug out a bit on me. However, the story, atmosphere, and experience is well worth a recommendation.
Amazing game!
This game has great creepy vibes. A perfect setting in diving deep underwater. I loved the story, the ambient music and just the general mood of the game. The controls and gameplay are just okay but the rest kept me engaged for the entire length.
I had a good time with this one. It's a little awkward to get used to the physics, but once you do it has pretty unique combat. Nice storyline, cool atmosphere, lots of ability gating to new areas. This one won't blow your socks off aesthetically (obviously), but if you're looking for a metroidvania where the atmosphere, story and exploration aspects are the focus, you should check it out.
On the whole I liked it, pretty good metroidvania on a submarine, some neat ideas for using equipment for unlocks. Some sections had environment contrasting movement and it felt worse but since it was doable I can forgive it. But as a con I'd say devs went too much with enemies also pushing you into map hazards, I can see the idea behind it, but it got annoying. As a positive I like how the deeper you go the creepier everything is. Story was cool. Many weapons to choose from. Summing up I had enough fun to finish it
Great horror metroidvania, my one major quibble with the game was bosses not having health bars so I had no idea how close I was to killing them. Also demolitions ginger best girl.
Unfortunately, I can't recommend this. While it seems to be a technically well-made game with elaborate game design, there's just not much fun to have. After 6 hours, I really don't have any motivation to continue. The movement is too slow and squishy, the abilities and upgrades are super boring, fighting enemies is tedious, and the graphics are too ♥♥♥♥♥♥ to generate enough atmosphere. Overall, the best word to describe my experience is: Boring.
As other reviewers have said, the submarine feels sluggish and unpleasant to control. I had to switch to a mouse and keyboard because controller support wasn't working and made the controls even more unbearable. This doesn't feel good to play, which is a shame because the premise is very interesting, but there is no way I'm playing a whole metroidvania that feels this bad to play.
