I could only recommend it on 2 conditions: - You are a fan of the series or actually don't know the series and want some good anime to play and watch - You have a VR headset I love the series, although for whatever reason the third season in Germany is only available with German subtitles, so I stopped watching until I improve my German to that level. Region locks for languages are as retarded as the pricing of that game. And done just for the same reason - greed and nothing else. When I saw this game on Steam (and on a big discount) I was hyped, even if that meant to relive the same story twice. And since it's made with Unreal engine, I was able to play the whole game in VR - and that is just amazing. The game looks exactly like the series, except in 3D and in VR you get this insane depth to it, it really feels like you are actually there. That alone is enough to recommend to try it out to anyone who has a headset. However, the game mechanics are so basic, even mobile games nowadays go further. What you do is basically just run a linear road, collecting secondary quest points (just some short cutscenes, basically) and golden orbs. Then you get a fight, which feels exactly the same as all the other fights in this game. It's always a 1 on 1 (well, you can get the help of companions as skills to activate every now and then) and it's like a basic fighting game. There is a progression in difficulty, but it still feels rather boring, because it's so repetitive. If you are collecting everything, you get "rewards" which are just some video cuts from the series, which I already saw at that point, so I couldn't be bothered to rewatch, regardless of how good it is. And it ends where the first season does, if I remember right. So in my opinion, it definitely doesn't cost 60 euro that they are asking for the basic edition. And even on sale it's barely enjoyable, so I guess I would only grab the second one once it's on -80%, if that ever happens.
