Demented Pixie is a visually unique rogue-like game in which you take a role of a crazed pixie. Thrown in a deep dungeon for supposedly being crazy, you have to make your way out. It's never that easy, though! It's not easy, but it's not frustratingly difficult, either. The learning curve is pretty smooth, as the game introduces more dangerous enemies as you progress. One of the things that really stand out is an element of strategy - unlike many similar games, the enemies, and especially the bosses, in Demented Pixie have various attack patterns, so you won't be just blindly spamming your attack (although that works on some enemies too!). Another feature that requires some thinking is the inventory grid - the pieces of equip are shaped like a simple jigsaw, so you need to fit them together. And with the wide variety of passive abilites, you can really mix and match the equip to fit your playstyle. Nothing too complex though, so don't worry - there's plenty of shooting to be done ;) One thing that some players might dislike is the amount of visual effects. Your pixie, enemy pixies, all the projectiles, particles falling down for some added atmosphere... it's pretty to look at, but it gets a bit overwhelming at times. Also, accidentally stepping on teleporters can screw you up, as they teleport you into another room instantly which is not always a helpful thing. And trust me, it's easy to accidentally step on one. All in all, I'm very impressed by the amount of effort that obviously went into this game. Everything works more or less how it should, found only a few minor glitches, nothing big or gamebreaking. Developer is active on the discusion and fast to act in case you'd encounter a bug, which is always a big plus. Recommended.

After launch this game opened in 640x480 fullscreen mode, shown 5 minutes intro movie that cannot be skipped, and when main menu finally was on screen - it appeared to be broken (mouse cursor was there, but I cannot click on anything, including "Exit"). I had to kill the process via Task Manager (in 640x480). 10 Demented Pixel Nightmares out of 10.
глюк можно обойти если указать параметры запуска "%command% -screen-fullscreen 0" (Библиотека-игра-свойства-установить параметры запуска) CPU: Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-4765T RAM: 16G SSD: KINGSTON SUV300S37A120G Video: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 960 4G (nvidia-current) OS: MagOS Linux 2016.64 note for linux users: game has a "Unity black FS" bug. To workaround specify "%command% -screen-fullscreen 0" in game command line properties
It is a roll of the dice, when you buy a game without many reviews. In this case, it feels like the dice are loaded against you.
It feels very slow to me for a twin stick shooter, and the difficulty varied wildly depending on the items available in each of my attempts. The Linux port worked fine for me, and I had no other issues with the game. I didn't like it, but if the things I mentioned don't deter you, then I think it's worth trying.
I really like the plot's idea, but the gameplay itself is way too basic and crude and enervating.
I really like this game. It reminds me of the old 80s Ultimate games like Atic Atac and Sabre Wulf, only with a really nicely polished modern twist. The mystical vibe gives it a nice storybook feeling and I like the story that goes with it. There are plenty of power ups to explore and the map seems big (as I'm writing this I've only played around 30 minutes) with some fun boss battles (Guardians) in the dungeons. The music is good - plenty of atmosphere there, too, and the audio is good throughout. All-in-all, if you like the gameplay of those old Ultimate top-down games like I do, I'd say this game delivers :)
Its really beutifully designed. So simple yet intricate.. if you're looking for some puzzle like retro game with an adventure.
Cool!
Very nice game
