The game has a nice atmosphere, but that is it. The first weapon you get is quite literally useless. A pipe with low damage you say? More like NO damage. Literally 12 hits with it did nothing on normal difficulty. Gun aiming is also not accurate. The game is a clunky combination of skipped frames on a 3080, some really immersive environments and models, offset by some cheap flat textures and crappy looking models in other scenes. It's not cohesive or consistent, and the gameplay is just not there in the end. The inventory is cumbersome in the heat of encounters as well. You have to choose between speed running like a rubber armed idiot or lackluster combat and I quite honestly prefer neither. The game really does have a nice atmosphere and a decent story from what I saw so far, but the gameplay and overall experience were just bland and uninteresting to me. Check out Organ Quarter instead. It is better in terms of gameplay, overall experience, and is nearly half the price. It was actually entertaining with less immersive environments and a less engaging story. The gameplay was just fantastic, especially the boss fights. These devs should take notes from them. If this game could improve it's combat experience with some more realistic physics, accuracy, and reasonable damage calculation as well a bit more overall polish to the game as a whole, it has a chance to be decent. It still just needs a lot of work in regards to the existing content. Clean that up before moving on to more content, and I will keep my eye on it and consider repurchasing. Definitely not worth the current asking price, more like half. I'm leaving a long review because I see the potential, and am a horror game fanatic myself. That is why it really sucks to see this one fall short, but it is on the right track.
This seems like i would up my alley , but atm the combat ruins it for me. While I dont think a horror game should have amazing combat, i still think it needs to balanced. Fighting anything in this using melee feels so awkward, from dodging to the stamina meter (which i find odd in a vr game, even for saints and sinners). I'll keep my eyes on it for now but atm, I dont think i can recommend it.
perfomance is verry bad. using i9 2080 ti 16 ram ans this game is terrible stutters with movement is normal in this game. without super sampling the game runs around 12 to 16 and ist alwash stutters really bad. from the opening menu you menu you can look at your controllers and see that its very sloppy fps.game is more then ok its silent hill but bugs bugs bugs you have to hit enemies around 30 times cant dodge also snap turning will not work. also on easy there is a bug that you cant die. im refunding.3 years work and you cant delivere a bug free game?
Bought the game to support the dev. At the moment, it feels unfinished, but it's ok. The idea and the atmosphere are so good until now and the dev is making a complete rework of this game at this moment, with full body, full physics, reworked fighting system etc. After i played the game for a short time, i have to say, it is so hard to wait for the big update. I really love horror games. I think and i hope this game will be the best of all horror games in vr. I'm really looking forward to this game. So take your money, support the dev and let's hope for one of the biggest old school survival experiences in VR. Thumbs up
It's good, not 40$ good but good. Would get Organ Quarter if you've not played it yet, it's cheaper and a better game since it is pretty much Silent Hill iv VR. Edit: I do just want to change my initial thoughts on the game. I would honestly say it is better than Organ Quarter as it's much more detailed seems to be more well rounded, is also way more atmospheric and closer to a Silent Hill (which is one of my favorite game series of all time) type game of any other vr game I've ever played. BUT once again it's the price that really sets me back on this one, honestly I would love to be able to afford to keep this game and keep up with the development of it but unfortunately it's not something I am able to do atm. I've also never had a game gifted to me either :) especially from a dev *wink wink. Lol anyway just my 2 cents on the game, if you can afford it and looking for a Silent Hill vr game you should 100% buy this game asap, but if money is a little tight right now with everything going on I would say wait for either a discount or give the game more time to get a true release.
It has been over two years since the last update. Update before they a year and a half prior. Stay away and keep your money.
Impossibile giocarci, i continui bug e crash mi hanno impedito più volte di finire il prologo. Lo sviluppatore mi ha assicurato che è in arrivo una grossa patch che migliorerà completamente il gioco!. Per adesso consiglio di aspettare.
Perhaps one day this will be a great game...not now. Graphics and interactions are too bad, they can't be so dull in a PC VR 2021 game. I wouldn't accept so low graphics in a Quest standalone game, I can't accept this in a PC VR game. I hope let's see again: but you must work harder!
Dement is interesting, but it needs to allow more freedom. It is a story-driven survival horror game but what makes VR great (interacting with the environment to an immersive degree*) is not present. it feels more natural as a desktop game rather than a VR game. The graphical fidelity is also subpar for the price the game sells at.
Couldn't progress. The game spawns you in a long hallway and tells you to go to a specific room. At the door nothing happened and i couldn't interact with anything. Other ways are blocked off by invisible walls telling you to go to the room. Can't really comment on gameplay but the game doesn't really seem worth the money as it has no hand tracking, weird menus and overall just looks really "Indie" in terms of graphics and communicating with the player.
