This game is not very good. The story is terrible, the controls are terrible, the voice acting is TERRIBLE. The two main characters have a predictable, forced, and incomprehensible reunion love story. The main antagonist is evil for literally no reason. The ending makes no sense and also sets up for a sequel in an incomprehensible way. This game is fun to razz for about an hour and then it is a SLOG to get through because of how the puzzles are paced. Picking up batteries is the WORST, and resetting an entire puzzle section because you die to a shark 10 minutes in is also the worst. Also the ending sequence completely disrupts the flow of the game, leaving one player to endlessly race a submarine through a repeating course for 20-30 mintues while another player still faffs around in the base solving puzzles. Then the player who just spent 30 minutes zooming around pointlessly in the sub also then needs to complete another lengthy submarine racing segment which goes on for far, far too long. Overall, i'm glad it's over finally
A Deep Dive worth exploring! As a fan of underwater games, Deepest Trench blew my expectations out of the water. From the moment you dive into the abyss, you’re pulled into an atmospheric journey that feels both thrilling and haunting. The gameplay is smooth and the controls are intuitive. The games sound and spundtrack is pleasing. The co-op gameplay is fun, and you may even try speed running it after you did your playthrough. What I found most engaging was the balance of exploration and survival elements. Resource management adds tension as you navigate the trench, and the strategic elements kept me on edge. The storyline, though simple, unfolds naturally and kept me curious to see what secrets lay deeper in the trench. I especially loved the upgrades and gear that felt meaningful in helping me survive increasingly treacherous depths. Overall, Deepest Trench is a fantastic mix of exploration, survival, and mystery. It’s an immersive experience that I’d recommend to anyone looking for a unique and well-crafted adventure. Dive in—you won’t regret it!
Great game, playing through with my wife and she is loving every minute of it. For the price of going out to a movie together I would highly recommend. Fully voice acted so far which makes everything so much better.
A fun little game ideal for co-op play, particularly for more casual or less experienced gamers. Linear gameplay ensures little-to-no frustration in solving each chapter. The deep-ocean cosmetic atmosphere is well-done.
I loved playing Deepest Trench! My husband and I were always looking for fun co-op games that we could play together that were unique, and for me personally Deepest Trench was definitely worth it. We had so much fun working as a team and navigating the puzzles, and also had a ton of laughs going back and forth regarding Maria vs Rob's point of view in the story lol. Loved the voice acting, loved the story and loved the surprises c: if you're looking for a fun experience, co-op or single player, I would definitely recommend! Especially for couples looking for something fun and different to do together! After playing a few times, I am definitely still team Maria for sure~
Fun little co op game. I don't usually play these types of games but my wife loves horror and is a big subnautica fan so this was right up her alley. Best part is that we only need 1 copy between the two of us to play together.
Great back story. Distinguished art style you just end up looking forward to during cut scenes. Engaging gameplay.
Fun little co-op game. Remote play works as intended so you only need a single game copy. Story and gameplay are fine, although some puzzles were a little obtuse. I very much enjoyed the soundtrack and found it immersive throughout the whole game. Most importantly to me this game felt like a labor of love. Would recommend you give the game a shot, even better if you can get the game on sale.
There were a lot of things I liked about the game. There were a lot I didn't like. It isn't a bad game. But less than 5 hours of gameplay without any replay value in 2024 for $20 or more...
Think of everything you want in a coop game. This is none of those things. Horribly overacted, terrible characters, graphics look like something out of a really bad early 2000s game and the puzzles are dull and uninspired. Please don't waste your time.
