The Kindling

Although there’s some story behind this, this puzzle is mainly a collection of stages in which you must create a fire and burn every object on the screen. The main mechanic is very simple. A fire can be created by joining two sticks, which you do by clicking and dragging one stick onto another. Once a fire appears, it burns your hand. When you bring your burning hand close to an object that can catch fire, that object ignites and eventually turns to ashes. The goal is always to burn everything using the objects provided in the stage. This involves more than just combining sticks, because many elements have their own rules and must be burned in a specific order. A log, for example, requires several sticks before it will ignite, while water instantly extinguishes your burning hand. To avoid this, you must place a stone over the water to create a bridge that allows you to move safely. The challenge comes from the fact that every action, meaning every time you move an item, causes the candle to shrink. When the candle burns down completely, you fail the puzzle. This means you have to figure out the correct sequence of moves in order to burn all objects before time runs out. There is no undo option, so a single mistake can force you to restart the stage. If you know you have already failed, you can either waste moves by dragging items around until the candle burns out, or you can click the bell to restart instantly. Although finishing a stage before the candle runs out is enough to progress, the game encourages you to complete each stage with the fewest possible moves. Doing so classifies the stage as perfected and places a burn mark on its image in the stage selection book. Every stage has its own picture, which allows you to see at a glance which ones you have perfected. However, the images are spread across several pages, so you will often need to flip through the book to reach stages in the later sections. The game is divided into three chapters. The first chapter uses the basic elements already mentioned, the second chapter introduces bear traps that you must avoid with your hand and robots that move when you pull a string, and the third chapter adds a slight twist. Overall, the game is pretty short and puzzles aren't that hard unless you want to perfect them. After you finish all of the main stages, you unlock another book containing a bunch of bonus stages. In addition, if you manage to perfect every stage within a chapter, you unlock a special door or opening that appears in that chapter. These doors are found on the transition screens where you choose which path to follow next. It is possible to complete a chapter without playing every stage, so you may need to return and select a different path if you want to solve everything.

Já havia jogado a demo e estava ansiosa para o jogo lançar por completo. A arte é FANTÁSTICA, os puzzles são desafiadores e o jogo é intrigante. Afinal, estamos colocando fogo no que e por que?

Excelente jogo. Puzzles bem feitos e divertidos com mecânicas bem claras de se entender, não é atoa que gastei tempo indo atrás de completar 100% kkkkkk Mas o ponto chave mesmo é a arte, linda demais e o jogo se destaca muito por isso!!

This game is short, but the puzzles are a fantastic bite-sized dopamine hit... Unless you want to get 100% completion, which will take some brainwork. And the art is undeniably INCREDIBLE!! All the assets are beautiful and original. Props to the creators of this little gem!

A truly amazing game, each puzzle brings a different spin on the mechanics making sure it is not boring at any time. Each level is worth the effort. Can't wait to complete all the achievements.

mecânicas simples que mesmo assim conseguem ser complexas com o ótimo design dos niveis, fora a linda arte que cai como uma luva pra temática e dinâmica do jogo. o jogo realmente só começa depois do capitulo 3, e isso só deixa as coisas ainda melhores. VAI BRASIL!!!

Jeu de casse-tête à l'apparence facile, j'ai adoré mon expérience sur THE KINDLING ! Il suffit de faire du feu. Facile non ? Et bien, peut être pas autant que prévu..... Et puis, pourquoi tout ce feu finalement ??? Burn. Them. All.
