A short turn based dungeon crawler thingy with a sprawling map to try and extract every goodie from. Try the demo and see if it's your thing, it's of the first area. Core gameplay element from this that stuck with me is that every action feels permanent, for example, every health potion you use is one less in existence in the game, etc. However it's not quite as brutal in practice as that may sound, it finds the perfect sweetspot where you do need carefully consider every turn or move, but you still have some room to make fast or suboptimal plays. Level design feels reminiscent of a metroidvania with several paths to go and interconnected areas. Not super replayable, at most you may try to do a no death and no savescumming run after you play the first time, but the ride is pretty enjoyable!

It's a good game, but I think it's not for me. The concept is similar to one of the creator's previous games, Myth Bearer, in that it wears the trapping of an RPG, but really is a resource management puzzle game. The difference being this game is much, much larger, and has many more systems interacting with each other. The resources you have to manage and choose when to spend include weapons (all weapons have durability, add a certain amount of damage to your attack, and some have special effects), armor, rings, HP, MP, XP (levelling up restores HP but not MP, and adds +1 attack), enemies (need enemies for XP, and potentially other things depending on traits), potions (HP, MP, and damage boost), keys, repair hammers, ranged ammo, troll tokens, runes, and insight. It's a lot of interwoven systems to juggle. Do you kill the enemy that'll hit you three times before you kill it, spending your HP and potentially weapon and armor durability for XP? Do you ignore that enemy and find a weaker one that will do less damage but also give less XP? Do you cast a spell to bridge a gap, spending your very limited MP pool? Myth Bearer had the same sort of questions, but fewer variables made the game more straightforward. This one is very complex, and a bit beyond my ability to manage. I still recommend the game if you enjoy the idea of puzzling out how best to manage interlocking systems of resources, but it's a bit much for me.
Pretty tight resource management/puzzle game. I especially enjoyed the *Deep Rune* part of the game. IYKYK.
Muy muy bueno. Juego de estrategia.
It's like Myth Bearer, the previous game of the developer, but even more polished. Great fun!
Pixel fun!
Deep Rune is a really good puzzle game mainly focusing on the resource-management of your items, mana, and health so you can successfully survive exploring the various rooms and the secrets therein. The game is rather short but has good replayability due to the different characters and secrets, alongside a scoring system (which is based on your insight lvl and is shown upon completion). This game really deserves more reviews.
