About
Death By Chatter is a 2D platformer rage game that is directly affected by your Twitch chat. Try to get to the top as your own chat sabotages you along the way!
How it works:
The game connects to your Twitch account via a Twitch application. (don't worry it can only read chat messages. as you can see below)

Then you simply type in the username of the Twitch account you want the game to read messages from. (usually your own username) And you're done!
How to play:
wait... are you telling me you've never played a 2D platformer before? UNBELIEVABLE! this game is for TRUE gamers only. (just kidding but yeah no you simply move with WASD and try to get to the top.) Be warned though, this game can be INCREDIBLY frustrating at times.
Epilepsy warning: Some scenes in the game could possibly trigger epilepsy

Death By Chatter will be as kind to you as your twitch chat is. The game offers a reflection of the community you have created while forcing you through a Foddian platforming game. The platforming physics are simple, intuitive and, at times, frustrating. But honestly, I think I just learned my chat is full of ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥... pretty fun
this game is so easy!! i sure hope some idiot youtube streamer doesnt try to play this game and fail terribly EVEN WHEN RESTRICTING THEIR VIEWER'S CHAT MESSAGES! A streamer must be SO BAD at LEAGUE OF LEGENDS and VALORANT to fail THAT BAD at this game!!!!!!
I got to play this game early and it killed my wife and made me despise everyone on earth 10/10

The game has the loudest intro music I have ever heard it blew my eardumbs up but the game would be super fun to play with a chat. I do recommend that they create an option so people who dont have a chat could still play. Overall could be better but for free no complaints from ME.
Game was super easy. I'm a very tall and talented gamer, a godly one at that. Was too easy for me even with my chat (it is larger than LoFi girl). I hope the dev makes it harder. Was super obvious that the chat was firing at me and I played accordingly. It would be stupid if I was firing out of my character. I even asked them to type 'Fire' more! Plus my Moderator Tom was SUPER helpful setting this up! Thanks again!
Warning: Third Party Account This game requires you to link to a third party Twitch account... there's no valid reason for this in a PC game when SteamWorks is available. This is often done to harvest private data and profile you, with potential sale and transmission of your private data to third parties. The developers will probably argue that you can trust them, but if they were trustworthy they wouldn't demand you create a third party account. This represents a considerable risk to gamers due to the privacy and security implications of developers that wish to bypass Steam and harvest user data. Remember, sometimes if the product is free, YOU are the product.
Death By Chatter is one of literally thousands of retro 2D platformers infesting Steam and lowering the average quality of all video games everywhere... and I'm not kidding. Searching for "platformers" on the Steam store page yields over 17,000 results! Is this one of the best of those? Absolutely not. This looks like just your usual platformer but it requires you link this crap to your Twitch account (social media integration is needed in games like pancreatic cancer is) so the developers can read your chat messages or something. This really is cancer. Of course the superficial reason is so that people can chat to you on Twitch which inteferes with your game... but looking at the peak player counts, nobody played this anyway. I guess gamers weren't lining up for their social media cancer infestation in a game? Platforming is an old, mostly dead genre, and this lacklustre experience, while it doesn't have an upfront cost, isn't saving the genre... it's no surprise this failed to capture any attention from gamers in the era of immersive 3D gaming. In terms of visuals, this features really godawful MS-Paint tier "art" instead of real graphics. It's hard to say if this was because the developer didn't have the skill to do the job of creating 3D visuals, or couldn't afford to hire someone who does, but it also doesn't matter. What matters is that this looks much worse than most other games because of that decision, and that's a major deterrent to gamers. The deplorably bad visuals here come across as an insult to gamers. This is "free" enough, at least you won't be expected to spend any more money after you download this, but just because something is free doesn't mean it's good. Despite having no up-front cost, this failed to appeal to the 120 million+ gamers on Steam. SteamDB showed the game peaked at only 4 concurrent players... this is a dismal public reception. This was so bad they couldn't even give it away. It's important to note that, despite this being such a low quality product, there's a number of positive reviews that all appeared immediately after the game launched, from suspiciously inactive Steam accounts that have reviewed almost no other games apart from this. Take the review score of this game with a grain of salt. Bearing in mind that free games don't add +1 to your game collector count, should you bother adding this to your library and downloading it? Nope. This isn't worth downloading. While this didn't cost me any money up front, I still feel ripped off.
Very loud intro music. Hello Ludwig.
