Upon finishing Deadly Sin 2, the only word I could really utter was "wow". The first game was amazing, but the second one is just absolutely flawless. I have no idea if there's anything about this game that I can criticise - the mapping is phenomenal, the animations and the production itself is fantastic, the combat has been improved and is much more fast-paced, the exploration is always rewarded, the atmosphere is wonderful and probably most of all, the characters and the story are just incredibly memorable and lovable. I found myself sinking into this game quite a few times and even felt sad when it finished. With a shorter run time than the first one, the pacing never feels too long and there isn't a single instance in this game during which I felt that it dragged on. It does everything that it needs in roughly 15-20 hours that it takes to beat. Absolute masterclass of a game. I also have to mention the amazing main villain who truly makes the game so much better, the emotion and the reasoning behind him, as well as the set-up was spectacular. This is a definite recommendation!
This game is OK... I may revisit it later. Music plays way too loud in the beginning and it's very generic, story is sort of spoiled/told to you in the intro, characters didn't really resonate with me, controls don't feel good(you have to use a mouse to play this, no remapping to wasd). Nothing really hooked me, but it wasn't bad either. May be worth buying for a buck and trying for a couple hours but idk if this is really worth spending the time on to complete.
This game could definitely use more attention from players, because it's a hidden gem. I stumbled across it by complete accident and bought it on a whim, and I'm glad I did. At $0.79 on sale, it was a steal, but even at its full price, it's definitely worth it. Yes, the game was made with RPGMaker, but these guys went above and beyond to grace us with an experience that delivers. Here's my rundown: -- PROS -- 1. The music was composed by the developer, and it definitely helps to set the tone for most situations in the game. It's all very beautiful. 2. Combined with the music, the gameplay provides an experience similar to SNES classics like Final Fantasy 4 and Lufia 2, ensuring that it stays memorable. 3. The 'Threat' system during battles prods the player towards more strategic gameplay, instead of going in and using all of your most powerful abilities to quickly destroy opponents. 4. No random encounters on the world map, and the ones in dungeons can be shut off if you happen across that level's Monster Node. 5. Talent system to make your characters more powerful and build them to your liking. Combined with the Monster Nodes which grant additional skill points, you can beef up one character or round the party out. 6. Standard questing system that rewards quest completion with additional skill points, and sometimes, with other rewards. Those rewards include cash money or powerful relics. 7. Storyline and character development that stokes excitement and the desire to see the adventure all the way through. -- CONS -- 1. No controller support. For me, this was a pretty big oof, but it's easily fixed with keyboard/joypad macros or a simple program like Joytokey. 2. Low resolution. I get it, this is RPGMaker and it has its limitations. With how good the game was, I was more than willing to let this issue slide. 3. Missable items. This is a personal pet peeve, and it's big. Some of the items aren't important at all, and you likely won't notice a difference without them. But there's one particular side quest in the game (it won't appear in your quest log) that requires gathering a full deck of cards to unlock an optional superboss (13 cards total), and roughly half of them are missable if you're not careful. If you miss just one of them, you can't access the boss or the payoff. In conclusion, this is a game I HIGHLY suggest picking up. I know I'm parroting a lot of what others have said, but if this had been on the SNES back in the day, it would easily be one of the most memorable games of that age. Buy it, play it. It's amazing.
I don't make many indie RPG purchases. I played the Final Fantasys and Pokemons. I loved Chrono Trigger. I think I have enough taste to say Deadly Sin 2 is quality RPG fun. It's normally $4.99, I purchased on special for $0.99, If I knew it was this good I would have bought for $10. If you ask me, worth it for $5 - It's worth it mate, I'm giving you un censored word-of-mouth, I'm having fun, mate lol. More fun than I've paid for. It's worth a purchase imo. After some food I'm interested to see what happens next. Small details in the game demonstrate, to my discerning eye, a strong passion of its creators. For example, the background is not repeatedly tiled anywhere but instead it is one piece. Also each character is believable in universe, in story - they fit. Small details go a long way in my mind. There isn't typical eye-candy sexy female healer and love-interest party member, here. They are their own unique bunch with unique combat dynamic, in their own story. I like it.
I want to review this game because I think it's good for what it is. Let's get the cat out of the bag. This game is made in RPG Maker. I know...... Isn't RPG Maker supposed to the the ♥♥♥♥ of the pile? The truth is that most RPG Maker stuff is shovel ware. However, there are people who make decent games using the software. Let me explain. There are skilled coders like Yanfly who, for some reason, love the genre so much that they are willing to make good scripts for RPG Maker so less skilled coders can make quality games. Then, there are people who have a good work ethic who really want to make a game. These people use these scripts and their love of JRPGs to make decent rpgs. Dancing Dragon Games is an example of a good game maker. The guy loves old JRPGs and is not lazy about his projects. So, this game represents SNES/Sega rpgs of old. However, it's actually a bit better than those games. First, it is not a boring grind fest where the key to winning is simply grinding and getting the better gear from the towns. Sorry Paladins Quest, Dragon Quest, Lufia 1, Earthbound and other greats of the time. Grinding is not really a thing. Like Final Fantasy IV-VI, you'll level as you play. Let's also talk battle systems. Old JRPGs were designed to be simple. As a result, the battle systems were a bit bland. This game uses scripts to make a system where you have agro management and other things to deal with. You also have to choose wisely in skill application (at least at early levels?) so your team mates are efficient. It will keep you engaged. Dungeons don't really have cool puzzles like Lufia 2 or Shadows of Adam; however, these dungeons are long, maze-like and engaging. You'll like be engaged in the dungeons. They don't suck. The story is simple. The character dialogue is a bit short. But there is enough war and political drama to be interesting and fun. Graphics have that annoying RPG Maker look. The same is true of the sounds. However, the battle animations and such are great. There is good music as well. All and all, give this developer a chance. I'm not saying choose his games over Persona 5 or Legond of Heros. If you have not played those, they need to take priority. But, if you devour every JRPG in sight and need something to tide you over, this game WILL do.
Gutes klassisches RPG soweit, spielt sich wirklich angenehm Gute Grafiken und solides Gameplay. Eine der wenigen wirklich guten RPG-Makerspiele auf Steam Good classic RPG so far, plays really pleasantly good graphics and solid gameplay. One of the few really good RPG maker games on Steam
A small nice RPG that isnt very hard. Story wiise is ok for a game that can be completed under 40 hrs. 7/10
Same problems as the first: Resolution is something like 480, with no option to change. Keyboard layout is nonstandard and *horrific*, with no option to change Controller layout is nonstandard and bad, with no option to change. Layouts are so bad that it's effectively unplayable (Extremely unfun to *keep* hitting the wrong button, because put everything in weird places.) It feels like the people who made this never played a video game in their lives... including the one they made. Otherwise they'd go "Why the **** is WASD not movement keys?"
Thumbs up
i do not know why would you name this game Deadly Sin 2, honestly Deadly sins 2 is way more better both in story , story telling, the plot and most of all the game-play is way improved than Deadly sins. Deadly sins 2 should just have its own title since its not even related to deadly sins 1, Deadly sins 1 was to horrible of a game it took me a year to even give Deadly sins 2 a chance and i'm glad i did since deadly sins 2 was good play.
