This is what I would consider a niche game. If you like WWII and immersion, this is a great game. It's insurgency but WWII. Unfortunately the multiplayer is dead but you can play anything you want with bots that are good enough. Wish more people played it because it's great.
Uma pena, porque na minha opinião o jogo tinha bastante potencial :( --- [EN 🇬🇧] This game caught my attention right away because I really enjoy World War II–themed shooters. It’s basically a game based on Insurgency (another game I like a lot), since both were built on the Source engine from Half-Life 2. For its time, Day of Infamy had interesting graphics, mechanics, and gameplay. But the big issue was the lack of players. I only managed to get into one or two matches online with random people, and that was it… the game is filled with empty lobbies. Such a shame, because in my opinion the game had a lot of potential :(

This was an unbelievably good game to play online a few years ago, and back then I would've recommended it to all without a second thought, but the game has been well and truly abandoned by New World Interactive. Now you'll do well to even get the game working if you're playing on Windows 11. I still occasionally just play with bots for a bit of fun but nothing matches those old online battles. NWI should just quickfix the broken BattleEye system so the game works on Win11 and MAKE THE GAME FREE TO PLAY, it would be an incredible F2P game and that'd get in a load of new players too. Such a shame to see such a fun game die and be left in such a poor state by the developer. Thanks for nothing New World Interactive.
Even modders fix their free source mods. Them wokies from NWI won't. Maybe Team17/Embracer group is at fault? Who knows... Still no reason to put it on sale and bait new customers to scam.
Insurgency pero en la Segunda Guerra Mundial. Ya no lo juega casi nadie, pero puedes jugar con bots (aprendan eso, desarrolladores de Darkest Hour).

Dead game, but it was fun in the past
I really hope and wish that the community gets back into this game It used to be so much fun and im upset that i didnt give it the playing time it deserved back in the day .
This game has the the intensity of ER2 with the impressive sound and level design of RS/RO2. The only downside is there is not much of an online player count these days. Peak player count is Fri-Sun, maybe 12-25. On an average weekday you may find only 2 players total on any given server. So if you want this game solely for the multiplayer aspect, you may want to skip it. However, if you are comfortable roleplaying your own practice scenarios with the best AI bots of any game within this genre, then this is the game for you. The bots are smart, they flank, they toss smoke and really give players a run for their money and it can become quite tense. I love this game and highly recommend it!
Very realistic and fun. Would reccomend to anyone interested in WWII style combat. Love using bolt action rifles to quicksnipe enemies. Extremely stressful and intense at some times but that makes it awesome.
