🖤 DARK: A Stylish, Yet Broken Gem. Why the Rerun Failed Me Disclaimer: This is not a standard review. This is a confession from a player who fell in love with the game at first sight, but became disillusioned upon a second encounter. Let me be totally real with you: I first played DARK a few years back, and yeah, it was kinda a "trial run." The game hooked me instantly. That gritty cel-shading, the noir vampire vibe—it made me feel like this slick, newly turned apex predator lurking in the shadows. I finished it happily, digging every "Shadow Leap" and stealth takedown. That’s why I figured, "Hey, I should give the devs (Realmforge Studios) some props," and I bought it on Steam. That’s when things went south, though... 💔 Why I Couldn't Get Into the Rerun (My Two Cents) I couldn't do it. Seriously, I tried to replay it, but I couldn't even make it halfway through the second time. Here's why, IMO, DARK is one of those games that's way better in your memory than it is when you're actually playing it: 1. The "Wow Factor" Fades On your first playthrough, you’re mesmerized by the style. The game looks like an interactive comic book come to life. But once you know the plot, the janky mechanics really jump to the forefront. 2. Broken Stealth is the True Boss DARK is a stealth-action game, but the stealth here is unresponsive and totally random. Enemies can straight-up spot you through walls or just suddenly "forget" you exist. The first time around, I let these bugs slide, calling it "charm." The second time? It was just pure frustration and annoyance. Hard pass. 3. The Illusion of Progression Sure, there's a skill tree, and the new vamp powers sound awesome. But TBH, the game forces you down one single path: maximizing stealth. Try to engage in open combat? You'll get dusted instantly, which makes most of the combat skills feel completely useless. What a waste. 4. Repetitive Level Design Clubs, corporations, museums... The levels look cool, but they're super corridor-heavy and linear. The first time, you're focused on the story. The second time, you notice how quickly the "hallway-two rooms-hallway" structure gets old. Real fast. 🩸 So, What's Actually Good About It? Despite my shade, I can't say this is a bad game. It's got undeniable pros: Visual Style (10/10): The cel-shading and the noir atmosphere of the vampire world are straight fire. For Vampire: The Masquerade fans, this was a breath of fresh air. Soundtrack: The music and overall sound design totally nail the gloomy, dark mood. Concept: Playing as Eric Bane—the new vamp with amnesia trying to survive a secret clan war? The core idea is brilliant. ✅ The Verdict I do recommend DARK, but with a major caveat:

[th]✅ Cop it if:[/th] [th]❌ Skip it if:[/th]

You're obsessed with vampire lore, want a game with a unique art style, and are willing to forgive some really (like, really) janky gameplay. Just keep your expectations low. You’re looking for a polished, deep stealth-action game (think Dishonored or Splinter Cell). You'll be quickly let down by the mechanics and controls.

My final take: DARK is a stylish, but straight-up broken, gem. It gave me an unforgettable first impression, which is why I bought it in the first place. But sadly, style alone ain't enough to carry a full second playthrough. My Score: 5.5/10 (7/10 for the style, 4/10 for the gameplay).

This is hands down one of the worst games I've ever played in my life. The story was riddled with plot holes, the gameplay was frustrating and tedious, and none of the characters are really interesting or likeable. Eric Bane (yes that is your character's name) speaks like a robot and doesn't react to anything with any emotion. When he first finds out he's a vampire after someone tries to shoot him, he just blankly accepts it and never questions anything. When he finds out his past, he doesn't give two ♥♥♥♥♥ either, showing the same amount of emotion as when he found out he was a vampire. The gameplay is nothing more than an extremely crappy and restrained version of Dishonored's stealth. It basically looked at everything beautiful about Dishonored and said "let's UNO reverse this ♥♥♥♥." Whereas Dishonored had a fun and diverse way of traveling through the world and fighting enemies, expanding upon and building the world with each level, Dark seems content on putting you into large open environments with limited cover and an over abundance of enemies with guns who will all congregate to you if just one of them catches a whiff of you. And in terms of combat, you're primarily limited to stealth kills and only start out with a crappy melee attack that only works effectively if you take them by surprise. You also can't move very fast, and you're one melee attack can be blocked by aware enemies, so if a guard spots you and you have no choice but to engage him in direct combat (and you will have to, trust me), the game essentially turns into a game of pattycake. By the end of the first mission I was convinced I was just an emo teenager trying to act like a vampire rather than a true vampire. Sure, you can get powers later, but they're still not that good and you only have a very limited use of them. You can recharge by drinking blood, but doing so somehow creates noise to the guards and will alert them to your location (even though the quiet way of taking them down is violently beating them into the ground while breaking their ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ bones and neck like a twig, whereas the drinking blood mechanic creates much less realistic noise by comparison, so I think they got the notes backwards or something). And while I won't spoil the ending, let's just say the final fight and ending are anticlimactic. In conclusion, go watch Zero Punctuations review of DARK instead. You'll get a lot more joy out of it.
Прикольная игра
Good lord does Dark suck ass to play, awful controls and the level design hates you. I was willing to sit through this because i love me some cheesy vampire shenanigans and i haven't played a proper stealth game in a while, but it just ain't worth it. Banger music playing in the hub of the game tho, not bad. https://youtu.be/wLySSnnTFgQ
one of the greatest vampire games ive played
I am not even going to bother slogging through this game with cheats holy ♥♥♥♥ this is bad.
Какой там маскарад вторые кровные узы, вот в каких вампиров надо гамать Игра показала так называемый уровень
si esta culerillo y nadie te lo va a comprar por casi 47 bolas pero si se ve interesante la madre esta
