DARK SOULS™ III

While I still have a soft spot for the first game and prefer PvP in Dark Souls 2 but Dark Souls 3 is an excellent conclusion to the trilogy and a fantastic action RPG in its own right. The game leans heavily into fan service, bringing back familiar characters, locations and references to Dark Souls 1. Sometimes it feels a little too nostalgic. Many encounters are challenging, visually spectacular and require learning enemy patterns rather than simply relying on high level equipment. The fights I remember the most are against the Nameless King, the Dancer of the Boreal Valley and the final boss. Each of them feels unique, demanding and incredibly satisfying to overcome. The world design may not be as interconnected as the original Dark Souls, but the locations are still memorable and beautifully crafted. Every area has its own atmosphere, secrets and enemies that make exploring enjoyable from beginning to end. The PC version is also a solid way to experience the game, offering smooth performance and good controls, especially compared to console versions. Pros: + Fantastic boss fights + Great atmosphere + Beautiful world and level design + Excellent soundtrack (Abyss Watchers <3) + Smooth and satisfying combat Cons: - Relies a bit too much on fan service - For me world is less interconnected than Dark Souls I - Fewer truly new ideas than previous entries
