I recently Played through and 100%-ed the entire main series, Here's what I think. *Fog horn* This game is just an upgraded version of the extra game modes in DRv3... Which those already suck but this one sucks-deluxe. They're riddled with micro transations now. I'll give it this: It has alot of cross game character interactions, which fans of the series will love I think. Don't bother with this one, unless you want more character interactions.
I have a love-hate relationship with this game. It's good because you can see how the characters from each franchise react to each other (except for the anime characters), and it has a lot of replay value. The bad part is the grinding; it's tedious. If you want to get characters (since you only get the main characters to play with at the beginning), you have to pray that the gacha works in your favor or spend money (although there's a trick to get them for free, wink wink). The gameplay is like a Mario Party-style board game, but much simpler and more RPG-like. I only recommend it to fans who want to see characters interacting across franchises.
do not get this game unless spike chunsoft is paying YOU 20 dollars, free wasn't enough for what i had to go through. i see you looking at that damn summer sale don't do it. until the price goes into minus don't do it
overhated af im addicted

ngl bought this for Hajime and Shuichi swimsuit fanservice. real grindy game. would NOT recommend bcs of microtransactions (GROSS). would recommend if you like DR universe overall and dont mind TBC.
The concept of this game in itself is fun if you want a chill game in an alternate kinda reality where the Danganronpa killing games never took place and they all hang in a virtual world and do all kinds of shenanigans on Jabberwock Island and are all best of pals. Execution of said concept, however, falls flat by a loooong shot. I've only played like 5 hours through to attempt to grind for my favorite characters and even then that was 5 hours too many. 5 hours of time I could have spent on a game I actually liked. Grinding to build characters is MIND NUMBINGLY BORING. For starters, you build characters in a board game like mode to level up their stats. Only there's one board and not a selection of them, and going through it again and again to level up the characters takes so much time, it feels like such a waste. It wasn't bad my first playthrough. But by the 3rd or so I was ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ bored to tears. If this was a way to get me to feel the despair they speak of so often in the games? Spike Chunsoft succeeded. You use these leveled up characters to fight enemies in an RPG styled tower battle system. Which would be fun. But the battle system seems incredibly unbalanced imo. No way to determine enemy stats or turn order which becomes infuriating. But you have to grind it if you want new characters because that's one of the only ways to get Monocoins. And to get new characters? You need to use a gacha system to use said Monocoins. Which is a fun nod to the previous Danganronpa games. But when you take into account the fact there are SO. MANY. CHARACTERS. It means that you're going tobe grinding the board game and the tower for so long you'll start to become insane if you want to unlock all of the content. And that is a road I refuse to go down. I can't say it's all bad though, at most I really appreciated the specific character events where there are scenes of them talking to characters they might not usually have interacted with before. Utilizing characters from all of the games in the franchise and making them interact is golden, I have always enjoyed a lot of Danganronpa's characters so I will give this game that. But everything else? Unbearable to the highest possible degree. In the end, I only managed to unlock one of my favorites. It was Fuyuhiko and he's my favorite Dangan character overall so I can't complain. Mission accomplished I think, there's no reason for me to play beyond seeing his character events.
i would rather gouge my eyes out than play this again I LOVE MICROTRANSACTIONS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
