D/Generation HD

This game is a broken mess. Dialogues will get stuck sometimes making it impossible for you to exit conversations. The dialogue windows will obscure your view while playing as they won't close. The devs also seems to have abandoned this one so I would recommend staying far away from it.

How many of us played the old, retro version of this game, and wondered if they could ever be brought to life in 3D. D/Generation HD sure does the trick, and the game look slick in 3D, with some nice touches here and there. But just because it looks slick, don't expect a fairly good game here. I mean, sure it reminds us of the good times when this game came out, and I loved seeing the same levels and scenes remade in 3D and the nasty creatures and traps being given a nice enhancement - who here would expect those green turrets to be remade as red worms that spit explosives when they see ya, eh? - and the ability to save at any time is a nice touch, but there are issues here that make one wonder if the developers truly beta-tested their creation. For starters, the courier's movements when running seem jerky - you make him sprint and he suddenly cuts back to the point where he had started to run. Next, the control scheme - it's not really as perfect as one could get, and it certainly could have been improved somewhat here. Other issues include the music - its nice, but I don't feel it works too well here - the fact it doesn't feel any easier than the original, the lack of charm despite the nice graphics, and a few bugs here and there. One such bug is that if you die, any speech text on screen is stuck in place when you restart and doesn't clear itself away, meaning you miss out on dialogue later on, no matter what scene and level you move onto. All in all, this is a hit and miss here - a nice effort to remake a classic game of the past, but the issues with it raise questions on whether this is a worthwhile purchase. If you like reminiscing on classic games, this might be for you, but play it with a strong amount of patience for the issues. Otherwise, gives this remake a miss.

Game should be removed. They have left it in a broken unplayable state.They also lied about working on a fix that never materialised.These guys did not deserve the honour to remake such a classic.

So many bugs.. you can get stuck in terminals and have to alt+f4 out of the game. text gets stuck on the screen so you cant see any future conversations until you exit the game and restart. If you change graphics options all the textures go weird until.. you guessed it.. exit to desktop and restart the game. The music randomly stops playing and you can hear the game clicking where the music should be. The game is fun but these bugs and constant restarts are starting to get annoying. Recommending for nostalgia reasons.

Just a Failure dont buy it the game is more clunky then the old Dos version...its buggy and has many problems.

Faithful to the original but too many bugs and development seems to have ceased. You might be better off with the original and dosbox, if you can find it

The game is very buggy and until the bugs are fixed, I would only recommend it if it is free AND if you liked the original Amiga (and probably PC and Atari) game.

D/Generation HD is a remake of an old 1991 MS-DOS game called D/Generation. It's an isometric action/puzzle game where you move around various sci-fi office buildings avoiding turrets and things. I have to say this is really bad quality. I laughed a bit when I saw the super janky walking animations. This doesn't really improve on the game in any noticeable manner apart from removing the pixel graphics the developers in the 1990's had no choice but to use with arguably worse ISO graphics. At least it works in 4K? $10 price tag, too. That's not gonna fly with me.

Apparently this game is from 1991. Never played the original before but I was bored so I gave it a shot. It's terrible. The controls are extremely awkward, it feels like everything is ice and I'm slipping around on the surface rather than walking. The gameplay itself is weird AF, there are deathtraps everywhere and you run around pushing buttons to get into the next room. Everything is incredibly low budget and frankly terrible. This just might have been one of the worst games I have ever played. Avoid.
