About
Cycle 28 is an intense momentum-based space shooter driven by a breathtaking orchestral score. A game where the physics, the music, and the fight to survive combine to pull you into a place where nothing else exists — just you, your ship, and the need to do better.
Simple controls. Relentless enemies. One more run.
You are Lieutenant Olivia Bergen. Separated from your fleet and trapped in an endless loop, you live the same battle over and over — and every time you drop from warp, they are waiting.
You don't know who they are or what they want. You just know you're the only thing between them and home. So you get better, faster, stronger. Maybe one of these cycles you'll figure it out. Until then, you can only keep dying.
Your gun has recoil — and in Cycle 28, that's your greatest weapon. Beginners survive despite it. The best players use it to thread the needle, powersliding through bullet storms at speeds their engine alone could never reach.
Unlock upgrades by beating your personal best — with 45 possible configurations, every build changes how you play.
An original orchestral score by Jordan Rees — composer of trailer music for The Mummy, Mother, and Marvel's The Defenders. The music doesn't just accompany the action. It drives it.
We wanted to make a game that respects your time and rewards your skill. Pick it up for six minutes or lose an entire evening — Cycle 28 is built for both. Every run teaches you something. Every death makes you better.
We're a tiny team of two people from Wales, and Cycle 28 is the game we've always wanted to play. It was nominated for a BAFTA and became the first Welsh game on Nintendo Switch ... achievements we're still quietly proud of. We hope it means as much to you as it does to us.

It's awesome, so simple but so fun. The game play is fast and addictive. Its satisfying to play and it leaves me wanting to play more. Brilliant soundtrack too! You'll be saying "Just one more round" so many times! I love this game, and the developers!
If this game is under $1.00/free, it is worth buying for an hour or two of fun. This is a pretty cool retro, top-down, bullet-hell type game. At least it's fun for the first hour and a half. Then, once I reached a best cycle score of 3102, I found it excruciatingly difficult to get anywhere close to that score again. There are some game-play mechanics that are just so unfair to the player. -The top-down view gives you minimal view as to what is in front of you, so you often run right into a ship / swarm of ships. This wouldn't be so bad if it weren't for the fact that -There is no ability to slow down at all. Shooting slows you down slightly however it's too insignificant to be useful. -The turning of the ship is on an acceleration, which means it turns slowly at first, then at full speed. -Overall, the controls are simple, but feel very sluggish and slippery, which, granted, makes sense in space. However, in this game, it just makes it frustrating to play and causes way more deaths than it should. -The upgrades I managed to get hardly changed anything. The only one that is important (and should probably just be default) is the multi shot upgrade, which upgrades your forward shooting power. -Some enemies have a very large amount of health, which wouldn't be so bad if either a) you could slow down and have better control over your ship or b) you could do more damage or have faster healing -Overall, by the time the timer hits 14:00:00, I'm getting overwhelmed with a ton of enemies, big and small; a bullet hell environment where I can't move around effectively; and a general feeling that getting past 2600 again will be very difficult. All this would probably be fine if there was more reward. Right now the only reward you get are tidbits of the story (which show up every now and then, regardless of progress), and upgrades (which show up every time you break your own record). Maybe if the upgrades were worth something or if the controls weren't so sluggish, I'd be okay with just having tidbits of story as the only meaningful reward in this game. If you're curious, the story comes in pieces that you have to put together in your mind to understand. You get a new piece of the story every now and then, however it is not the greatest story telling. Quite frankly the overwhelming amount of frustration and repetitiveness I feel from this game vastly over-weighed the entertainment after 2.3 hours. Do I recommend you play it while it's under $1? Absolutely, its got a simplistic and retro feeling art style to it, and a unique set of game mechanics.
One word...addictive One sentence to explain this game...How many foes can you drag down to hell with you within 25 minutes! (and if you die, you start all over). 100/100
The controls are frustrating, your ship flys too close to the edge of the screen to avoid damage, the graphics are disappointing even for an indy project. Add some more color beyond cammo green and industrial sky blue. Little details are just missing that suggest this isn't even a project of love. Why don't the multiplier notifications come in different font, color, size, or some other indicator to differentiate it from the glut of unsatisfying point UI.
Frustrating controls. Not for me.
terrible steering!! the ship needs at least a break and the arrow, who points to the direction of enemy ships need a bigger or smaler intensity, depending how far the enemy ships are away from the player ship, so you have at least an impression, what direction you can or you shouldn't fly. so this game isn't perfect, at least not for me. the sound is nice, but flying the ship is awful. its more or less a prediction shooting, because with that much enemy ships at ones and that limited ship handling at the same time, you dont have a chance to shoot enemy ships at sight. plus you shouldnt only look at the arrow all the time, because enemy ships can appear from any direction without beeing pointed from the arrow. this isnt fair at all. so my final verdict is 80% frustration and 20% fun.
An exceptionally enjoyable game. Just buy it.
I may have only played it briefly, but the sound affects were good enough to annoy my wife, so it must be doing something right!! Controls feel ok using a wired 360 controller for Windows. I will definitely be playing some more of this, just unlocked my first couple of upgrades!!
