Cursed Treasure 2 is a simple tower-defense strategy game where you play the bad guys. The closest comparison would be the Kingdom Rush series, although there are significant differences. From the intro, you see the character graphics are poor with those minimally drawn "googly-eye" enemies, but the pretty and colorful environments made up for it. The gameplay was very solid also. I liked levelling up and the upgrade chart between stages. Even when you lost, you gained experience so an unsuccessful run was not completely useless. However, I sometimes had infrequent crashes when failing a map (or elsewhere). Not enough to be a big issue, though. I liked the extraneous buildings on the maps, different from offensive towers, that could be upgraded and exploited, such as mines and taverns. This is something rarely seen in the genre. I liked very much being able to decide when the next wave would come because I could then better prepare. Later on, there were too many waves of enemies and this got tiresome. Half that number would have better. Only three towers but upgradable. Twice that would been better. Being stuck to one type of tower per terrain type limited placement choice, but it was also an original strategic consideration I learned to appreciate. Way too few musics, but at least they were good. From reviews I read, this PC version based on the original Flash version is better than the "Ultimate" edition that is a mobile port. Both are sold on Steam. At the reasonable price and length, with 24 stages, this little-known title in the genre deserves to be better known.
Free version is better than this. Bottle of potion don't auto collect when round is done, they get stuck behind other things so it ruins the game. The last 3 new levels are trash. Used to be a fun game, now, it's just a farm game on level 21. DO NOT BUY!!!!
Cursed Treasure 2 is a polished and highly engaging tower defense game that stands out by flipping the genre’s usual moral perspective on its head. Developed by IriySoft and published by Armor Games Studios, the game casts you not as a noble defender of kingdoms, but as a dark overlord tasked with protecting cursed gems from waves of self-righteous heroes. This role reversal gives the experience a playful edge and immediately sets it apart from more conventional tower defense titles, reinforcing its identity through humor, theme, and mechanics. At its core, the gameplay revolves around defending a set number of magical gems placed on the map. Instead of enemies simply reaching an endpoint, their goal is to steal your gems and carry them back along the path. If too many are taken, the level is lost. This mechanic creates constant tension, as players must think not only about stopping enemies early but also about intercepting retreating thieves. Even a single slip-up can cascade into disaster, making placement, timing, and upgrades feel meaningful throughout every wave. The game offers three main tower factions: orcs, undead, and demons. Each tower type has a distinct attack style and upgrade tree, allowing for specialization and synergy. Orc towers excel at raw physical damage, undead towers focus on slowing and crowd control, and demonic towers emphasize magic damage and area effects. Towers gain experience as they defeat enemies, unlocking stronger evolutions and encouraging players to invest in fewer, more powerful towers rather than spamming weak ones. Deciding which towers to nurture and which paths to upgrade adds a layer of long-term planning to each level. Spellcasting further deepens the strategy. Players can unlock and use spells such as meteors, curses, and time manipulation to control the battlefield during critical moments. These spells are powerful but limited by mana, requiring careful judgment about when to deploy them. On higher difficulties, spells often become essential tools rather than optional bonuses, especially when dealing with elite enemies or recovering from mistakes when gems are stolen. Enemy variety is another of the game’s strengths. Adventurers come in many forms, including knights, archers, ninjas, angels, and other specialized units, each with resistances or abilities that counter specific tower types. Some enemies can fly, others resist magic or armor, and some actively target towers or use stealth mechanics. This diversity forces players to adapt their strategies from level to level rather than relying on a single dominant setup. Progression is structured in a way that respects both success and failure. Even if a level is lost, players still earn experience points that can be spent on permanent upgrades, such as increased starting gold, stronger spells, or improved tower stats. This system reduces frustration and encourages experimentation, as setbacks still contribute to overall growth. For players seeking additional challenge, completed levels can be replayed in Night Mode, which restricts tower placement to illuminated areas and significantly increases difficulty, offering substantial replay value. Visually, Cursed Treasure 2 uses a colorful, cartoon-inspired art style that reinforces its tongue-in-cheek tone. Enemy designs are expressive and easy to read at a glance, while tower animations clearly communicate their function and power. The environments are varied enough to keep levels visually distinct without distracting from gameplay clarity. Sound design and music support the action without overwhelming it, providing satisfying feedback for attacks and spell effects. While the game is widely praised, it is not without limitations. Terrain restrictions, which dictate where specific tower types can be placed, sometimes reduce creative freedom and make certain strategies feel forced. Difficulty can also spike sharply in later levels or Night Mode, where perfect execution and heavy spell usage are often required. For some players, this pushes the game closer to trial-and-error than pure strategy. Despite these issues, Cursed Treasure 2 remains a standout example of classic tower defense done right. Its clever premise, layered mechanics, strong progression system, and high replayability make it easy to recommend to fans of the genre. It doesn’t reinvent tower defense, but it refines it with confidence and personality, delivering a satisfying experience that rewards planning, adaptability, and a willingness to embrace the role of the villain guarding their ill-gotten treasure. Rating: 7/10
very good
I grew up playing this game so it was super fun to return too. A few of the achievements you had to really work for but it was still really fun replaying all the levels and fully upgrading your powers
I opened this game thinking: “I’ll just try one level.” Three hours later I’m aggressively protecting shiny rocks from tiny heroes like they personally insulted my family. My precious… 7/10 awesome TD game

I like the game but it's oddly more expensive than the ultimate version, it's probably because the devs didn't adjust the regional pricing since release.
Sudden spike on the last 3 levels turn this to a thumbs down from me, it's ok generally and good if you want that extra sudden spike of challenge, not good enough for me to bother to finish
