Another Classic HOG game published by Artifex Mundi. Just get it if you into HOG stuff. Good and clear art. Interesting plot and puzzles is nice.

Honestly, I think this is the first Artifex Mundi Hidden Object Game (HOG) that I've played, so I don't think it was a bad entry/foray into the genre. The artwork is beautiful until the game starts zooming in to show the low resolution, or when characters mouths start moving. I was frustrated by how nonsensical some of the item locations or puzzles were, but apparently this is the nature of HOG... The voice acting seemed very lifeless, bland and unconvincing at times, but I kept it on for the entire game. There also appears to be one bug/glitch at the final final section... [spoiler]when you need to return the bag to Prof. Patterson, the cinematic will freeze if you are returning to the area. I think you can simply click in the inventory area to exit the frozen cinematic. [/spoiler] The game is about 3-4 hours long, with no normal replay value, so if you are able to get this for [b][i]less than $4[/i][/b], it would be a good deal.

Modern Tales is an interesting steampunk styled Hidden Object Mystery with guest spots by alternate historical figures. Fun underlying thread of magical alien tech, in the vein of Indiana Jones and the Crystal Skull, which is a convincing divergence point for an AU. Has some nice foreshadowing of potential future games in the series, with a large trove of secrets that only unlocks if you've collected optional items throughout the game. I made sure to take screenshots for later review. Sadly, despite having spent 8 years on Steam, this has not yet been updated with the Collector's Edition content. I just found fifteen minutes' worth of PS4 gameplay footage that I was not expecting to see. Looks like they have a post-game playable epilogue chapter? I'm not sure why that content remains exclusive to other platforms. Oh, well. What's here is decent enough...

a mediocre HOG that is only worth it on sale. Pros. ok story. ok gameplay time ( around 2 hours and 50 minutes) nice art Cons. bad voice acting with mispronunciations no bonus story i had weird freezes that were only gone if i alt- tab from the game very easy overall i barely recommend it as it was pretty dull game. i give it 5/10 for the game +1 for the cards = 6/10

It's the first game I played of this genre. Good experience overall! I skipped just one puzzle because it was too hard, despite trying to solve it for 15 minutes. The story was okay, the soundtrack was just fine. The art is enjoyable as well. I got it for €1, so, it's definitely a no-brainer for me!

Los juegos producidos o distribuidos por Artifex siempre son excelentes para mí. Me gusta la historia de fantasía y como se introdujeron personajes históricos con las licencias creativas de la fantasía Steampunk. Los puzzles a resolver fueron muy entretenidos y, a mí gusto, no abusa de las dinámicas de "buscar objetos ocultos". Los escenarios como siempre, hermosos, me pareció que se salieron de lo común. Los personajes me parecieron encantadores, la introducción de Albert me pareció muy divertida. Tal vez podría molestarle a alguien que el personaje principal hace de todo y todo aparentemente sale bien, algunos personajes que deberían ser de apoyo no lo son, pero en particular a mí no me molesta. Sé que el juego ya tiene muchos años, pero tengo la esperanza aún de una segunda entrega.
