too short for the price.
"Cursed House Match 3 Puzzle" is an atypical match-3 game with minigames as bonus. It runs flawlessly and it will stimulate your brain! A very tricky match-3 with power-ups and unique ways to solve the puzzles with many different mechanics. The game has both Relaxed and Timed modes. You get to banish the evil creatures and through the use of an ancient amulet that you slowly power up, to restore the house to its former glory! The levels themselves are hard but leave an impression and above all they are fun. So you will be glad it wasn't a piece of cake that required no thinking and ended in 10 minutes. The visual effects, animations and music will help a lot in keeping you calm and focused on the task at hand. If you are stuck, you can use the help system. It will keep you busy for hours but without overstaying its welcome and you can always replay it due to its nature. One of the most fun and intriguing match-3 puzzle games out there. The original Cursed House game is way different than the rest of the series. You're inside the haunted mansion, and every room is a group of M3 levels with a different objective. It's an untimed game with no other options, so most of it is pretty easy, but the demon zapping room is challenging because the demons keep trying to move up and if they get to the top of the board, you lose. Another room is a turn-based collect coins level against a computer opponent, which I particularly liked for the strategic element. The other objectives include removing all the coins, making larger matches using selected tiles, matching in columns/rows containing rune blocks until the runes are destroyed, lowering target items to the bottom, making matches involving ghost tiles, and unlocking locks. You have to charge a mystical amulet to gradually remove the curse from the house, but in this game, the amulet charges gradually just from finishing a M3 level. When all the levels in a room are complete, you get to watch some of the curse being removed before going to the next room. There are 10 rooms total; the first few rooms have around 5 levels, but later rooms have as many as 10 levels. Otherwise, this is about as close to a traditional M3 as this developer gets with their games, and doesn't have the puzzle element of most of the series. Only 2 powerups which charge with larger matches, but you don't need them much. I finished the game in 3 hours. Completing the game unlocks all the rooms of the mansion so you can go back and replay your favorite levels. I'm still trying to figure out what the disembodied voice is whispering at the start of every level. Wish the developer would bring that back for some of the later games.
Even though I launch this game from Steam, a screen pops up telling me that I have to be logged into Steam to play. So, it's one of those always-on games. That's something you have to get over, especially with such a cheap, junky game. Well, that alone isn't enough to make me recommend it...and honestly, you can find better free match-3 games.
