the final release of cube world was unexpected and so was some of the changes made to the game, which makes this version differ from its alpha counterpart, the alpha hooked many players, myself included, a decade ago. players anticipating its release may have been too harsh with their critique of the new progression system, which in essence offers players the same experience of progression and power scaling but at a frightening fast pace which resets as you venture into another zone. in theory it capitalizes on the idea that the player is in it for the journey, slightly missing the mark as most players may want permanent increase in power and not minor increases to the brightness of their lamp , just to name one of the actual things that you CAN permanently increase on a character. Skill trees were also removed. The game is still cube world, different but still cube world, it technically has more than the alpha version I fell in love with, and giving credit where it is due, wollay is very talented and i understand some of the changes made to the game, theirs no denying this version of cubeworld has more, and the new structure takes some getting used to, i think its in a state that could use more optimization and tweaking but its still cube world, even in this state which may be abandoned by its creator (not sure) the game it is still a good game. Thank you wollay for delivering even if it was not what people had in mind, it was a conclusion that many had begged for, an update to a great game. cube world alpha will always sit in my top 5 favorite games ever to this day. this version maybe not, but by no means is this a bad game. I cant NOT recommend cube world to someone. This version of the game is like the alpha on turbo, you have all abilities at the start and peak quicker, which may have led to many people dropping the game too soon. if you are in it for the journey and not the destination there is a still an adventure to experience here
