Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 2.71/day in the week to Aug 10 → 5.57/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 25 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 10 places towards #1, and the 2,413 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

Обожаю вселенную Rusty Lake. Об игре узнал от подруги, а прохождение смотрел у Куплинова. Буду постепенно и дальше проходит игры из этой вселенной
It is not possible to dislike, it's Rusty Lake

So at time of writing I’ve played up to but not including Roots, the game that caused the series to blow up. That means the first 9 games. That sounds like a lot, but the series started as small flash games so they went by pretty fast; Hotel was probably the most involved one, and it was still just 2.5 hours to 100% (it was also the one that wasn’t just a web game at first release). I honestly really have loved these, despite the fact that on paper it doesn’t necessary seem like something I would like –eldritch horror elements, a retconned story that clearly started as just vibes, few answers to what’s going on, weird use of suicide as a metaphor, sometimes gross, etc. But the game does these things so well that it transcends the problems I usually have with them — I actually really liked seeing how they clearly were just going for atmosphere in the first couple of Cube Escape games and then later on were like, okay, how do we explain this and make it coherent? The result is some really creative, unique, and interesting lore that was clearly done deliberately and thoughtfully when it was retconned in, and it works. The other thing that works are the soft horror elements — the game really understands why and when less is more; the anticipation of horror is worse than the thing itself, the monster you see briefly outside the window is scarier than the thing you see clearly in front of you. The result is that the game really, really earns its jumpscares by being judicious with them. By using things like the shadows and disembodied hands as motifs it also makes them feel purposeful and meaningful within the universe; I think one of the problems these types of games can have is that the horror stuff starts to feel too directed at the player and becomes a suspension of disbelief problem, but here when you do stumble across it you’re like ‘oh, yeah, ok, that is what would be here.’ I don’t know, it just worked for me. The whole mood and tone worked for me in a way it usually wouldn’t. The other thing is this game has a really wonderful conservation of detail and gameplay that I really appreciated. Nothing is frivolous or puseposeless and it really enhances the puzzle-solving. The oldest games can definitely have an issue with obscure solutions, but those get significantly better over time (I seem to also remember seeing one of the devs say this is something they know they were iffy on early on but have consciously improved, and it shows). The puzzles are satisfying because nothing is extraneous; no amount of detail-oriented gameplay is too much, but at the same time there’s no excess of detail to waste your time. Solid. I liked these enough I also played their tabletop version! Mr. Act and I had a lot of fun with it, it was a good time. The design ethos translated really well to pen-and-paper. These games won’t be for everyone, but as far as weird point-and-click logic puzzles go, I really liked them. I’m looking forward to Roots, the dev’s first commercial release, when I have time for it.
What is the concept of Rusty Lake? Is it more like an alternate universe? A subliminal pocket of consciousness? Or any other correct term to describe it? Perhaps it's more like a surrealist shared universe. A pocket of consciousness. A cycle of samsara. With a pinch of generational cosmic horror, which more reminds me of David Lynch’s Twin Peaks. It's all of that, and more. But yeah, a game is a game. You either enjoy it or abandon it after failing on so many tries. Some are made perfectly for you, while others are out of your preferences. As for me? This game is philosophically deep and I love it. This is the first one I tried among many of its series. Rusty Lake cleverly hides its depth behind surrealism, alchemy, and psychological horror. Rather than giving you long monologues or text-heavy dialogue, the game uses "dream logic" and surreal puzzles to explore heavy themes about human nature, time, and existence. You should play the series in release order, not chronological order. Because the plot heavily relies on time travel, memories, and loose ends, playing chronologically will ruin major twists and leave you completely confused. All of them are seamlessly connected. So if you're a random deep thinker like me, or just simply want to try a different kind of unique game from the good old Flash Games era; buy the Rusty Lake series. Plenty of interesting stuff to find and experience it yourself. :3
CHANGE all that u touch, U CHANGE
The first 3 chapters were genuinely fun: atmospheric, mysterious, narratively intriguing. The puzzles were thematic and intertwined well with what went on in the chapter's story. But chapter 4-6 seemed way too heavy on puzzles for the sake of puzzles. As a person who despises too obvious and formulaic puzzles within games, I was immediately thrown off by them. The further I went through the chapters, the more I needed to rely on walkthroughs, which I didn't think was a fun experience. But The case 23 chapter and the need to literally just play 15 puzzle which was not tied to the story and anything that was going on, was the final nail in the coffin. I decided to drop the series, which is a shame since the story was intriguing and art style of the games, despite its simplicity, was quite unique.
One of my favorite things about the Rusty Lake room escape games is the overarching story that connects every title. The more games you play, the more pieces of the bigger mystery fall into place, making the series incredibly rewarding to experience from start to finish. Each game has its own unique setting, puzzles, and atmosphere, so they never feel repetitive. They're consistently captivating, with just the right balance of challenging puzzles and intriguing storytelling. If you enjoy escape rooms and narrative-driven games, this series is absolutely worth playing.
