Crown of the Empire
Collection game of 2021. The life of Elena, the first lady in wait for Her Majesty, is not so much about balls, corsets and fancy hats as it is about secret service and life-threatening covert operations for the good of the empire. That as a hook to the game. A collecting game and what a game. Here you have to collect a lot and clear away many blockages. Building is not neglected either. The main focus is clearing the paths. This is kept rather simple. Nevertheless, the overall concept is not monotonous. The game surprises again and again with new funny building orders. That's how the story looks funny. The individual maps are good and so is the story. Unfortunately it is not programmed very cleanly, every now and then a worker gets stuck somewhere. Annoying but no problem. Unfortunately, thieves are out and about again, but they are not that intrusive. A good casual game. Made with a lot of heart and soul and can certainly be called good. Recommendation for adults. I was on the fence about this one but finally decided to give it a thumbs up. 1. Way too many levels with henchmen who steal resources. There are some strategies to help with that but they are still a pain! 2. And I found a bug in level 51 (for those of you in the USA... is this Area 51?). I didn't try until the end to clear the big pothole in the upper left in front of the bridge. When I got to it, I couldn't clear it. It kept highlighting like it needed to be done but wouldn't let me click it. On replay, I cleared it early in the level without a problem. Other than those two issues, I really enjoyed the game!
I've never played a resource/time management game quite like this, so the mechanics were refreshing. It is possible to 3-star all the levels so long as you pay attention to what resources are needed and plan accordingly. However, I have two complaints. 1 - Skip the story. It's just white savior colonialism BS that isn't new or even makes sense. 2 - It needs more audio responses when a target is selected. OK. OK. OK. OK.
I got this game for a couple of bucks. So its worth a passing grade. This is basically a point and click puzzle game where you manage time and resources. Simple, can be challenging later on. The only thing missing is a level editor. All in all, deserves a passing grade. Well done.
"Crown of the Empire" is a pointless "12 Labours of Hercules" screen tapper/clicker game. There's no gameplay, just tapping on the screen. The game is made to look like you're making interesting decisions as you're presented with a map of a town/village/pathway that has you clicking on various things to collect things which are then consumed when you click on an obstacle, which unlocks more things to click on. This is so lame and shallow, you could write a script to randomly click the screen and given enough time, it would beat the game. This is an asset flip, it's copy + pasted from the same basic Hercules/platespinner asset and reskinned by the serial offenders at Creobit, who continually copy + paste the same game templates onto Steam... something they've done literally hundreds of times. This guy is a major polluter. The developer, Creobit/8Floor, has copy + pasted this game an insane THIRTY THREE TIMES onto Steam with minor reskins... why cash in on one asset if you can cash in on multiple copies of the same game? Asset flipping begins at home! Here's a list of Creobit's copy + pastes of this asset:

Argonauts Agency: Captive of Circe
Argonauts Agency: Chair of Hephaestus
Argonauts Agency: Glove of Midas
Argonauts Agency: Golden Fleece
Argonauts Agency: Missing Daughter
Argonauts Agency: Pandora's Box
Crown of the Empire (this game)
DayD: Through time
Elven Rivers 2: New Horizons
Elven Rivers: The Forgotten Lands
Emergency Crew 2 Global Warming
Emergency Crew Volcano Eruption
Garden City
Gnomes Garden 1 + 2
Gnomes Garden 3: The thief of castles
Gnomes Garden Lost King
Gnomes Garden New Home
Gnomes Garden: Christmas Story
Gnomes Garden: Halloween
Gnomes Garden: Return Of The Queen
Lost Artifacts
Lost Artifacts Mysterious Book
Lost Artifacts: Golden Island
Lost Artifacts: Soulstone
Lost Artifacts: Time Machine
New Lands 1 + 2
New Lands Paradise Island
Roads of Time 2: Odyssey
Royal Roads
Royal Roads 2 The Magic Box
Royal Roads 3 Portal
These are all reskins of exactly the same game! What value is there in this spam/pollution glutting the Steam store for gamers? From a technical perspective, the game doesn't meet basic minimum requirements that most PC gamers expect as standard. There's no options to change the resolution for the game or customise the graphics settings. There's no way for gamers to ensure this is running at the native resolution of their displays... there's no guarantee this game will look right on any PC as a result of this hamfisted design decision. There's no way for gamers to try improve the low quality graphics. This looks and feels like a mobile app, but it doesn't seem to have made it to the app stores. It's unclear why this was put on Steam instead of the app stores it seems to have been designed for. Maybe it was removed, maybe it was rejected by Apple and Google (they do have more rigorous quality standards than Valve does for Steam, after all). Regardless, for all intents and purposes this might as well be a mobile app, it has the same limitations and dumbed down qualities. It's impossible to recommend such a game to PC gamers. We don't spend all this money building gaming rigs so we can pretend they're iPhones and play games that might as well be mobile apps. These technical defects push this game below acceptable standards for any modern PC game. The poor quality of this game is reflected by how many people spent time with it. At the time of this review, SteamDB shows the all-time peak player number was only 6 players. This is a remarkably low number, and now, the only player activity occurs once or twice a month, presumably someone loading it up to see what it is then quickly uninstalling it. Considering there's over 120 million gamers on Steam and well over 50,000 games for gamers to choose from (over 9,000 completely free titles), the overwhelming lack of interest in this low quality game is to be expected. "Crown of the Empire" has the greedy, cash grab price of around $5 USD, it's not worth it given the defects and shortcomings with the product, especially considering the sheer number of completely free, much higher quality games on Steam.
Fazit: kaufen, kaufen, kaufen. :-)
Best time management game I've played, but doesn't have achievements :/
Took a chance on this and have ZERO regrets. LOVE this game. HIGHLY recommend it to fans of time management games alike. Be sure to pick it up for fifty cents like I did. No-brain purchase. If you're reading this years from now and somehow this game no longer hits fifty cents, all I can say is HA. EDIT: After completing the game, I just want to add that this game is INSANELY difficult to get 3 stars on levels the farther you progress into each zone of the world. So if you want something super challenging, super engaging and super addictive all at once, this game is for you. The 99 Everywhere trophy I obtained by replaying level 50. You just leave the last Mill at level 2 and then slowly get 109 resources of each. It says you need 99 but once you build that Mill to level 3 to end the level, it takes resources to build. I think you need 104 coal and coal is the resource that takes the longest because you only get 3 coal every time it spits out.
