BottomLine at the Top: Wow. Did I just do drugs?....Download this immediately! Intro: You ever look at a game/movie/book and say to yourself "ya I'm going to like that". Well, that was this game for me and I'm glad to say I wasn't disappointed. ------------------------------------- Pros ------------------------------------- -Started right up, zero setup headaches, stable. -Satisfying sound effects -Totally love the music selection, atmospheric and appropriate for the bizarre vibe -Really cool and strangely unsettling 1-bit graphic style, incredibly unique! -The story, setting, and overall style is enthralling. ------------------------------------- Meh. ------------------------------------- -No save functions. Normally this would be a problem but it’s actually a feature in this game. The multiple endings and choices available make you want to try each one. That being said if the other chapters are going to be longer it might end up feeling tedious to get back to whatever decision point you want to try differently. Luckily, the skip option seems to work fairly quickly so for this demo I was able to try all the options I wanted without too much tedium. -Short but this was just the demo. Probably perfect to give you a taste of what the main game will be like. Hopefully, despite the potential tedium listed in the previous Meh, the other chapters will be more substantive. ------------------------------------- Cons ------------------------------------- -The con is this is just the demo. Final Thoughts: This demo was a just a glimpse into a David Lynch-ian psychedelic mindf***. If you’re like me, you’re going to be concurrently saying "WTF" and "This is awesome" throughout your brief playthrough. The full game will be an insta-buy for me when it comes out, really looking forward to it! I've never truly experienced something so surreal. The way the story plays out is so confusing, yet devastatingly hooking. The game sorta feels like an adventure, but it's more of an acid trip
Absolutely brilliant. really looking forward to the other chapters, what a trip!
Its not a game, its an expierience. Its weird, absurd but absolutely COOL. Its the essence of Vaporwave/Retrowave/Gamerwave in a digital graphic expierience. If you miss good ol' Tumblr, if you are a Vaporwave-junkie, jump on board and enjoy this brief trip. Its for free.
really hope to see more of this. it was a short, enjoyable, and trippy experience.
this is the best demo ive played in my entire life ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ i cant wait for it to come out
If you go digging though my reviews you will find a phrase I am often want to use is, "more of an artistic experience than a game"... I'm not going to say that here because that doesn't really apply here. No, this, this is more of a meme than it is a game. It's not really for me, but I imagine that will be appealing to some, and I'd be lying if I said it didn't make me smile a couple of times at the sheer absurdity of it. I also respect the developers for trying something different and for putting this out for free, as a sample of something larger to come. This is not something I feel I'd pay for, but because it is free, and out of respect for the developers for allowing us to try their experimental thing for free, I'll recommend it. It just might be worth your time, and perhaps you'll be attracted to the larger thing they are selling in the future.
Gives you *those* vibes. The good ones.
might be ok...too early to tell. I like the sorta neo noir glitch art asthetic but the story needs alot of work. being surrealist and vague is cool but intrigue and some sorta emotional pull is still needed. Im gunna give it a thumbs up for being free and slightly good like i said. ill be adding it to my wishlist to check back and see if something more substantial comes out.
