Prices
Each in the currency that store quoted — not converted: the gap between two rows is the publisher's pricing, not an exchange rate.
Availability
We put this game to every storefront we collect. A market that answered not sold has told us something about the game; a market we never asked has not, and the two are never drawn the same.
Charts
Each storefront's own chart, in its own country — the closest public signal to sales where none is published. A country missing from a list is one we don't collect there, not one where the game doesn't chart.
No United States chart position — it charts only in the markets below.
Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.

Each DLC is estimated with the same model as a game, then summed — a modeled figure, not reported DLC sales.

Reviews

14 of 15 markets; the rest we haven't asked for this title, not markets where it is unavailable.
14 on sale1 answered “not sold”0 we did not ask
The 1 “not sold” market is read from the Steam price pass of Aug 27: that day the store answered for this game elsewhere and gave no price there. The 14 priced markets are the same rows as the table above — each the latest price we hold, dated here when it is older than that pass. The 0 marked “not asked” were not put to this store at all — either it has no storefront there or we do not collect it yet, and neither is a statement about the game. A refusal is a refusal on one day; a store can list a title again tomorrow.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 3.89/day in the week to Aug 4 → 2.57/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 22 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 9 places towards #1, and the 2,513 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

As one big interactive flashback to the original FFVII, Crisis Core is ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ great at times.
What works especially well is that we already know how Zack's story ends.
When he leaves Aerith and says he'll be back, when he and Cloud are making their way toward Midgar, when the Shinra army finally appears - none of it is a surprise.
And that's exactly why those scenes hit so hard.
The final battle, with the DMW slowly falling apart, is probably the best original idea Crisis Core has. The game mechanic itself starts breaking down along with Zack, as the people he remembers disappear from it one by one. This is the rare moment when Crisis Core actually uses gameplay to tell its story, and it works beautifully.

As a standalone game, though, it's a complete ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ mess.

Genesis quotes LOVELESS → Angeal grows wings → copies of copies → Hollander runs around doing Hollander things → the director disappears for most of the game and comes back as Old Angeal → apples → goddess → giant Materia → Genesis survives → secret Deepground sequel bait.
And somewhere between all of that are 300 missions, about 250 of which could have been deleted from the game and absolutely nothing of value would have been lost. That's probably the most frustrating part: Crisis Core never needed any of this.
It already had the Wutai War, Zack becoming a SOLDIER, his relationships with Angeal and Sephiroth, Nibelheim, Hojo's experiments, the escape with Cloud, and the final journey to Midgar.
Whenever the game focuses on expanding the story and characters of FFVII, it works. It's just a shame that between those moments, you have to play Crisis Core.
Great game but better on New Game Plus. The side missions are often annoying, distracting and drag the pace down. But on your second time through, you'll have an easier time following the plot and enjoying the combat, just be prepared to kill everything on hard mode with next to no effort since you already had the stats to kill the superboss on your first rodeo. That said, I liked Zack's story and it's actually kind of essential to understanding the remake trilogy. It's a flawed but ultimately worthwhile spin-off.
de locosssss
Still one of the greatest games of all time and worth experiencing once Major flaws are Voice acting is hit or miss and the difficulty seems easier
one of the best endings to a game i have seen
如果扎克斯能看到爱丽丝的88封信就好了
