Game is actually fun and cool overall but yeah just needs some improvements which I hope few patches should be released soon in the future. Screw those whinning dogs complaining come on it's a $20 game not a $100 game with same bugs or short campaign or gameplay issues or whatever. I experienced no problem while playing for 4.4 hrs non-stop and the only thing I was a little bit annoyed was that I can't switch targets while doing combo attacks like first attack on enemy A and then second attack of combo on enemy B (switching enemies during combo performance) as I have to wait till I finish or cancel combo before I am able to switch targets (when locked on enemy you can't switch to another till you either finish the combo or cancel). Other than that the game is pretty cool and worth the time to play.

Needs some updates but it's fun.
How is this game this cheap? I dare say it puts some AAA's to shame on some aspects. Do yourself a favor, do not read the reviews, go see some gameplay. If a Darksiders roguelite catches your attention. Peep it out. Super worth it.
I would absolutely recommend this game. 13 hours in so far with a good mate of mine and although there are obviously some things that need work (listed below), we had fun all 13 hours exploring all the boss fights, gear combos, and skills and I would absolutely recommend this game for $20; it has a simpler souls-like dungeon crawler feel which I love. Simple enough to get off the bat but has enough complexity to not feel trapped in your own character. *Keep in mind I read absolutely nothing and skipped almost all cutscenes except the cool boss intros so nothing on the lore + only 13 hours in* Things that we learned: Loot - We found via trial and error that you basically only upgrade your starting kits and that most of the cool perks you find on gear will only be available to you for that "run". While there a handful of initial armors and weapons you can find that will always keep their special perks throughout any run (limited options for a certain "build"), most of the starting gear you find will just be for looks and the tier-level it is at for base stats which can be upgraded with the smithy. - There is currently no indication which gear pieces you acquire will have a permanent special perk and which are only available only during that run (we just stumbled across them). - There is no "transmog" system which also limits the build-making and personalization. You can experiment with limited gear that has these permanent perks but you will find yourself looking insanely unstylish which matters to some. - All loot is given once and available to all so if you're playing with a random that's a greedy goblin, you better be fast. - You will only pull out of run gear that you have not acquired before and it will be at the "common" rarity (can be increased when upgraded at smithy). - Stored items mid-run cannot be destroyed or interacted with in any way, once it's there its there. - Purchasing an item at the smithy will replace your current item in that slot for the rest of the run Combat: - Decent versatility in attack styles (jump attacks, roll attacks, heavy/light combos, parries) however, the parry timing can take some getting used to/be adjusted to match the attack animations and will differ depending on which shield you wield and if you are 2-handing (some shields are faster/2-handing is really fast). - While weapon skills allow for a lot of playstyle flexibility, there could be room for weapon type attack style flexibility too; all 1 handers seem to perform the same as all 2 handers do with the same move-sets. Different move-sets or timings could increase complexity (crossbows, rapiers, longswords, katanas, flails, halberds, clubs, etc.) - Some weapon/shield skills are prone to missing completely depending on distance to target and whether they are in an animation or not which feels... off. - The camera movement on targeted opponents can negatively impact your evade abilities immensely. If you are too close to a wall sometimes you will see only the wall until your character is physically able to move (the tree worldboss is insane with this). - Targeting between opponents can be tricky, we experimented with auto target on/off and still found some weirdness like targeting an enemy 2 enemies away that is 2 stories above you rather than the one in front. - Some weirdness with animations like an obvious stutter in some weapon jumping attacks, unlocked heavies being non-free aimable until relocking on, executing an enemy in a tight spot can spawn their loot in the floor/wall/staircase with no visual sprite. - Monsters can get stuck in spots, some low-level railings cannot be jumped over (can be deadly). - No real stat page totaling/explaining how certain arts, effects, attacks will behave with added modifiers or detailed description of arts (trial & error). - While effects like burn, poison, bleed, frost are simple enough, finding an explanation of what rage, marked, sunderance damage effects are can only be found externally. - Bosses could use some tweaking in terms of scaling/movesets, some just feel way too easy after a certain level (lvl10+) and especially in a duo with 6 opportunities to use the angel forms. Single player vs 2 players is an entirely different experience. - No cool emotes to celebrate your wins/antagonize your friends :( Other stuff - Quests don't appear to give you anything at the moment. - Choosing the wrong level for the last boss can end your raid prematurely* (* cause we might just be dumb) - Level difficulty on level completion in coop can show differently for host & non-host (1 skull vs 3 skulls) - Glitchy (not gamebreaking) interactions when accepting bounties. - Certain elevators are especially easy to fall through before elevator completes its entire animation (going up). - Some "lore" scrolls cannot be interacted with if your partner has already picked it up. - People are losing their minds over the lack of keybinds but we got used to them in about an hour (deva said they are working to add this). All-in-all we are having a great time with this game and want to see it improve. Very cool style, bosses are awesome, gear arts are great, and ITS ONLY $20. Looking forward to seeing improvements as this could be such an awesome game with a few adjustments.
I wanted to like this game, I really did. The art style is easy on the eyes, animations, sound fx, soundtrack all check out. I really like that they used hand-crafted levels instead of proc-gen, and the moment to moment combat is generally fun. 90% of the time the game's balancing feels fair. The executions are very cool, and I like the environmental storytelling the game does. The game is also quite decent for just $20. I overall had some good fun playing this game. My list of grievances is much longer though, sadly: No pause button. It's 2026, you guys aren't Fromsoft. Devs need to stop this nonsense with not allowing us to pause games. I understand this game is multiplayer, but even in singleplayer the game cannot be paused. The most frustrating thing of all are the giant Demon Brutes (like the one you fight in the tutorial). They feel like a huge slap in the face to the player every time you come across one. Since this game doesn't rebound camera off walls, your vision during this fight gets obscured by the environment constantly. This demon which you encounter as a random enemy in missions is literally more difficult than all but maybe one of the final bosses of each mission, very high damage, high HP, fairly difficult to parry, have a few very long combo strings which means your stamina bar is going to be exhausted if you like dodging, when posture-broken, you can't riposte them, and even if you want to just wail on them, they stagger like 1 mile backwards so you can't even properly punish them. To top it all off, when you finally kill one, it always drops NOTHING. This enemy is just insulting and frustrating to fight. You may as well just place a giant gate that drains half of the player's flasks, + one of their lives, and force the player to go through it, because that's what encountering this enemy feels like. the combat is generally good, but it feels very rough in certain ways. For example, you cannot pivot/turn at any point once an attack animation has started. You can't even pivot/turn in between attacks of an attack chain. This isn't a Monster Hunter game, you don't have to lock us to animations like this. Elevation changes mess up several different attacks and also ripostes. That's some 2011-level jank. The game doesn't communicate clearly when you can and cannot change your build. You have to fail a mission to finally be put into a state to be able to change your build. The merchants selling you things you can buy in between missions with the temporary currency seems pointless - my items after even the first mission are generally already better than anything the merchants sell, plus their inventory never seems to change. It's always the same items. What's the point? Let us buy consumables with this temp. currency instead. I do like the game's meta progression system, however the upgrading system needs some QoL. If I have a chestplate at blue rarity, how does some other chest-plate at gray rarity compare to my blue one if I were to upgrade the grey one to blue? I should be able to view the stats, or know this, and not have to waste money upgrading just to figure it out. I dislike how little buildcraft the game feels like it has. The environments don't feel like they have a lot of interactable elements in them, making the world feel stiff, and stone-like. Weapon variety is sadly quite low, and so too is enemy variety. The game's balancing is also kind of all over the place. I mentioned earlier 90% of the time it's good. Within that last 10% lies some of the most frustrating nonsense this game has to offer. The boss of the 3rd district (Egregore? I don't remember the exact name) literally 1-shots me from full hp with his slam + triple circle attack. I have a build centered around having as much defence as possible, while also frequently taking upgrades that boost my max HP. I should not be getting 1-shot by literally anything in this game. I also sometimes break the posture of certain enemies in 2 hits, and other times take 4 or 5 hits for no discernible reason (I don't know what the enemy is called, it crawls, jumps and claws at you, looks like a demon or fiend of some sort), same weapon, same string of attacks (light attacks only). Right now the game feels like it's in early access. I hope the game gets some more love. More polish on the combat system, more build, weapon and enemy variety, fix the damn Demon Brutes (absolute minimum, make it so that they can actually drop loot. Killing one right now feels pointless and insulting). I'd be more than happy to redo this review once the game gets a bit more time to cook in the oven.
Cant recommend at this point and looking at other games of this developer, I doubt most issues will get patched. They abandoned every other game and are ALREADY working on another game releasing early 2027 with yet another completely different focus. It very much seems they just churn out mediocre game after game till one sticks.
Don't listen to the negative reviews, it's a $20 game and its a lot of fun for what it is. Definitely recommend playing with a friend though!
