Only played a little bit (just shy of 3 hours at time of this review), as it is I feel like the world is only available to you 8a.m (if you go to bed before midnight) to 6pm or 10a.m to 6pm if you have to be forced to start the next day at midnight as all the NPCs and animals will just de-spawn. You get into a repetitive loop pretty fast with how empty the world is right now. Wake up, plant/water/harvest, check clothes shop, buy crops, make clothes, open shop / sell clothes, the end. You can do some foraging, but as the game says you get way more from growing your own about 2-4 from foraging and 8-12 when growing/harvesting your own The walk speed is frustrating I think is the right word, the map is small, but the walk speed makes it feel big if that makes sense, you're not particularly slow, but you feel as if you should be able to go faster, but you can't...so like running in a dream It is really nice to have a code just know what you need to do while plotting, planting, and watering it too feels like it takes a little too long. The animations are cute like the first 5 times, then you're like okay I get it! Filling the watering can breaks my brain...the bar will fill up to show a full can, but then I'm still stuck in the animation, same with watering, it will show my bar go down then I'm still stuck in the animation. I feel like if the animation and bar synced up this part wouldn't be so annoying. I know the dev has ambitions to add more like fishing, knitting, & tending to livestock so I look forward to those Until then I think for now just syncing up the fill animation to watering can animations, and increasing move speed would be nice. If no increase to move speed then have a Maddie Magazine delivered so I can see her stock without having to walk over there

Wouldn't really spend more than $5. limited gameplay and EXTREAMLY slow animations make a farming game stressful. Hopefully in the future UI and movement will improve. Can not currently rec it though, too light for double what it should be.
I bought Cottonville on sale fully expecting it to be a waste of money… but, I was pleasantly surprised. The game ended up being a really cute and relaxing experience. I had fun creating my character, waddling around the small map collecting resources, and taking in the colorful, playful art style. The whole game has a very lighthearted and cozy feel to it that made it easy to just sit back and enjoy. The gameplay loop was simple but satisfying: casual farming, gathering materials, creating clothes from the resources you farmed, and then selling them by dressing customers. It never tried to be overly complicated, and I think that worked in its favor. It took me less than 8 hours to fully complete, but considering I paid under $3 for it, I definitely feel like I got my money’s worth. Not every game needs to be hundreds of hours long to be enjoyable. I also didn’t run into any bugs or technical issues during my playthrough, which honestly made the experience even smoother and more enjoyable overall.
One of the cutest games I've played in a very long time. The gameplay is simple, but for $1.09 on sale, I find it very much worth it. You grow plants to weave into fabric or use as dye, stitch together clothes in your atelier, and serve customers according to their desires. You can dress them up however you want, but if you match their clothing to the color, fabric type, and style they specify, you get bonus money in the form of tips. There's really not much to this game, but somehow, I very much like it. The character customization is cute as well. You have multiple hair styles, colors, and eye styles to choose from. The only thing I have found baffling/displeasing is that clothing items are single use -- once you wear it, you have to make it again if you change your clothing. Not a great feature, but at least most items aren't too difficult to make. I found the music pleasant and unobtrusive. Get it on sale and have fun playing dress up!
relaxing and cute game and I really love the artstyle!!
A surprisingly high-quality game for such a small size
I played for an hour and it was ok, I got it on sale and strongly recommend that if you do want to get it that you also wait for a sale. To me even on sale it doesn't feel worth it and it feels more like a mobile game then anything else. The world is very small and the npcs around the world just stand there and feel more like decorations for the world then actual npcs. There are animals running around but you can't interact with them at all so all of those reasons make the game feel incomplete and lonely. The farming is also very basic and the animations feel very slow. You can pretty much see the entire game play loop in 10 minutes. The thing I enjoyed most was the art style.
It's a alright game, it needs more polishing like if we could upgrade watering can
Nice game! The art style is very cute. I played on a PC, but it feels like a great game for a Steam Deck to play during a break. The gameplay is fun. Overall, I recommend trying it.
